Writing this list down, I realized why my girlfriend calls me insane...

For me:

The Killer
- old Fox Lorber release R1
- Hong Kong Legends R2 UK
- Criterion Collection R0 US
- Fortune Star re-master (in box set with Bullet in the Head) R3 HK
- Fortune Star re-re-master (solo DVD) R3 HK
- HK Video R2 France
and if they release more, I'll buy it!

Other one:

Hero (2002)
- original DVD-5 release by Guandong Face R0 China (only release in this post I don't still have)
- Special Edition R3 HK
- Ultimate Edition R3 Korea
- Director's Cut Limited Edition R0 China
- Director's Cut R3 HK release
- Limited Edition R2 Japan

Four-peats:

Alexander
- Theatrical Limited Edition R3 Korea
- Director's Cut R1 US
- Final Cut R1 US
- Final Cut HD DVD US

Taegukgi
- Original Korean 3-disc set (signed by the action choreographer!)
- 2-disc Special Edition R3 HK
- 4-disc Special Edition R3 Korea
- 5-disc Limited Edition R2 Japan

Three-peats:

Kung Fu Hustle
- Limited Edition R3 HK
- Special Edition R3 HK
- Blu-ray RA Korea

Ong-Bak
- original Thai release
- Korean release
- Japanese Special Edition

Troy
- Theatrical Cut Wooden Box Limited Edition R3 Korea
- Director's Cut Ultimate Collector's Edition R1 Canada (same as US)
- Director's Cut Blu-ray RA US

That's what's in my head right now.

Current double-dips: way too many to list, though I'd somewhat be curious/scared to write them down...

Some of you guys go back way back (8MM T2???) Cool. Happy collecting!

My James Bond collection gets that honor. I bought some of the first set (TSWLM, GF, DR. NO) than the Special Edition and two years ago the Ultimate Collection.

I bought a 2nd copy of Annie Hall when I lent my first one out and it was lost. A 4-pack of films had "Men of Honor," which I already had in my collection. Other than that, I've never bought two versions of the same movie.

I'm going to keep this with DVDs, so the original Star Wars trilogy wins with three: bootleg versions of the first "special" editions (Han shoots second), the legit DVD box set (Han shoots at the same time), and the versions with the original films (Han shoots first).

I am also going to be double dipping on these. I'm sure there are others I will double dip on, but the ones below are the ones I am confident about getting over the next few months:
Die Hard (have 2-disc Steelbook, will get the BB Exclusive Steelbook soon)
Dune (have 3-disc, and I will get the Steelbook soon)
Fight Club (have SE, and I will get the Steelbook soon)
Leon (have uncut version, and I will get the Deluxe Edition soon)
Transformers (have 2-disc, and will hopefully see if someone has a Steelbook at their local FYE for me)
X2 (have 2-disc, and I will get the Steelbook soon)

(Note to self, DO NOT do this list anymore when someone asks this question. You really don't want to know the answer to this question).

I was given the fullscreen versions, so I guess I didn't completely double dip on them in the sense that I didn't buy the first copy. I would never willingly buy the fullscreen version of something meant for widescreen.

Same here. Except for The Simpsons Movie. I own it in Widescreen and will eventually buy the Fullscreen copy just because I am a Simpsons Fan and want all of their DVD releases (this includes future double-dipping on the Seasons in standard cases, not the Limited Edition Heads).

I don't think I've upgraded any title more than once. When the day comes that I do though, I'll take that as a sign to stop buying and just rent.

I just ordered a copy of The Shawshank Redemption 2-disc from Best Buy and that makes it a triple dip on DVD, thanks to owning the 1-disc and now a 2nd copy of the 2-disc. Add the VHS and it makes it a quadruple dip.

And about a dozen of others which I double dipped on.
You're missing a region 4 Texas Chain Saw Massacre that got released recently; essentially the same as the steelbook region 1.

Yeah, I know I'll get it eventually. There's also a Swedish steelbook similar to this one that was released recently.

Actually, some are from Trade, some were hugely discounted and some were given as a gift to me.
