Well, shit, I've waited this long... Looks to be the set to get. Sometimes procrastination has it's perks.

All troma movies are shot "full screen". they are just matted for widescreen in theaters. I have seen a few troma movies in the theaters and there is no difference between the two.

Citizen Toxie may actually eclipse the original in terms of hilarity and un-PCness. I mean, where else can you find Ron Jeremy as a devout Christian mayor with the last name Goldberg (played by Ron Jeremy no less!) and a superhero faction consisting of an anthropomorphic dolphin and cow? Also infinitely quotable:

"Now I have AIDS!"

"Oh no, it's the Toxic Avenger, and his morbidly obese sidekick Lardass!"

"Dead tards and charred lard!"

The original also doesn't have Lemmy.

Are parts II and III any good? I've heard II is OK but III is pretty bad.

Here's the description from Troma Team Video. Note that it's six-discs, not seven, and only includes the Toxic Crusaders Movie, not the whole series as had been previously reported:

# This six disc set includes the unrated director's cut versions of The Toxic Avenger, The Toxic Avenger Part II, The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie and Citizen Toxie, The Toxic Avenger Part IV, along with the animated Toxic Crusaders movie and the making of documentary Apocalypse Soon!
# Packaged in a limited edition digipack!
# Includes collectible Toxic Avenger booklet!
# First 1000 signed and numbered by Creator of the Toxic Avenger Lloyd Kaufman!

So, it looks like the disc count works out to this:
1. Toxic Avenger
2. Toxic Avenger 2
3. Toxic Avenger 3
4. Toxic Avenger 4
5. Apocalypse Soon (second disc of part 4)
6. Toxic Crusaders Movie

I'm not going to buy unless it contains the entire Toxic Crusaders series.

I'll probably still get it simply to own the movies and the animated movie too. But that sucks about not releasing the series.

The picture on the site still says 7 Discs and it's a different picture than the one here. Also, the last line about the movie is no longer on Troma's site. So perhaps this does have the series.

I wonder if they'll make the movies look worse like they did with the first one when they went from the good looking one in the Tox Box to the crappy looking 20th anniversary or whatever that special edition is.

The original box only consist of Toxic Avenger (1,2,3) & a Toxic Crusader Pilot Episode.

The Toxic Avenger IV is a separate release.

Hmm... The latest boxset looks intriguing.. If the packaging is made of some special material .. I might bite the double dip on this...

I'm assuming to get this deal you will have to order from Troma directly. I'm pretty sure Lloyd will sign the boxset for you if you just throw him a couple of bucks. Seems like anything he sells on his site can get autographed. Hell I even got my Stendhal Syndrome poster signed by him just because Troma did one of the release!

It looks like we may get all 13 episodes after all! TVShowsonDVD has posted an ad which shows that it is 7 discs and includes all 13 episode!
I guess the big question left is, what version of the first movie is included?

OMG! That movie, the first one, gave me such nightmares as a kid. I remember my mom must've recorded the first one 'cause one day when I was looking thru video tapes at the house I came across the movie and it was when the dude was turning into the monster in the bathtub...and OMG I never want to see that again for as long as I live! and yet, strangly, as a kid, I did like the cartoon - even had the colorforms of it....but OMG, I swear I never want to see that again. lol

If it's the Toxic Crusaders movie again then I can safely pass cause I already got the old Tox Box and Citizen Toxie separately.

But it's pretty much confirmed to have the whole series, also the movie.

I think it's going to be the series and NOT the TC movie. The movie is just the first three or four episodes combined anyway.

What I don't get is if this is a complete box set, why not the two-disc set of Toxic Avenger?

I know the transfer was worse, but it has a lot of extras the single disc does not.
