To make it even more complete why didn't they include Terror Firmer, Toxie is a big part of the movie within the movie of it, They could have had a pretty good 10-Disc set if they only included the 2-Disc Toxic 1 & Terror Firmer

That's a good point, then again we're dealing with Troma.

I really wish Troma would team up with Blue Underground or Anchor Bay or Dark Sky or someone who can make proper DVD releases of their films.

It's the limited edition, *NOT* the 21st Anniversary. I just picked it up at Best Buy today for $50.

Damn, that sucks. I sold off my old editions 2 years ago when this was originally announced, and waited through endless delays.

Oh well. I couldnt find it today at Best Buy or Movie Stop, so just got it from Buy.com for $30 after GCO.

Can you give us a full breakdown on the disks? Is it basically all of the previously released unrated discs for 1-3, the previously released unrated two-disc 4, and two discs for Toxic Crusaders?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I haven't watched all of the discs, but I used to own the Tox Box years ago, and they are all the original releases, all unrated, including the 2 disc Citizen Toxie. And 2 discs for Toxic Crusaders.

The first disc of Toxic Crusaders is the "Volume One" disc released a few years back.

The case is stupid, the bottom part that says The Complete Toxic Avenger is a small slip sleeve, the 4 movies are in a large keep case with 5 discs in it, and then Toxic Crusaders is in it's own 2 disc case. It came with an original lobby card for The Toxic Avenger.

Is there any reason to buy the 21st anniversary edition of the first one?

It's in widescreen and has a new commentary and introduction.

Keep in mind that it's a matted, non-anamorphic widescreen and it's even stated on the new commentary that correct aspect ratio is 1.33:1.

See the thing with Troma is when their movies are released on dvd you lose some of the sides. I noticed this when I went to see Citizen Toxie a few years ago. There was more info on the sides then what was on the dvd. So i think that there is a little zoom in on their dvds. Maybe the widescreen is the better way to have it.

But when they released Toxie 1 in widescreen you lose some on the top and bottom. The movie was shot for video, it was shot open matte 1.33:1, and so were all of the other Toxie movies. So either way you are losing some of the picture, and when it is matted and played in 16:9 you are losing a larger portion than you are at 1.33:1.

Not sure about Poultrygeist I saw it in the theatre and it was widesreen and I have an anamorphic widescreen DVD of it. Hopefully whenever they get around to real DVD release, rumoured for October but it's Troma so I doubt it will happen, I hope they stick with anamorphic.

Lloyd doesn't care about aspect ratios so we'd be lucky to get it in anamorphic.

As I've said many times, I wish Troma would license their shit out. They'd probably make more money that way than their current (shit) releases.

Seriously. Give Anchor Bay. Blue Underground. Dark Sky. Legend Films. Synapse. Anybody. Give them all the extras you've already created and the original 35mm negatives for the films and let them go hogwild. The quality of the extras is there, but the quality presentation is not. I've seen laserdisc and VHS transfers that were superior.

And while they're at it, give me the remake rights to Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. so I can pitch it to a Hollywood studio and do a big budget remake.

Well, I can now confirm that Toxic Avenger part II is the cut version. There's no wheel chair death. Wonderful. Oh, so complete....

You know a company doesn't know or care about what they're doing when Asylum puts out a better product than you. Better meaning technical quality, not movie acting/plot quality although I would argue what they've been doing lately has been mostly better than the movies Troma has been putting out.

Note: I am not much of a fan of Asylum but at least it seems like they're at least trying with their releases.

You'd think with the money problems they'd been having they'd license their stuff out.

The weird thing about the first release of Toxic Avenger II was that it took Troma Video some time to realize that the commentary didn't match what was transferred to video - Lloyd was talking about restored scenes that were in fact not reinstated. Why Troma included a cut version of Part 2 for this new box set is totally back asswards.
