Part of the reason is that Disney had a lousy track record for DVD quality over the years. They layed thick edge enhancement on almost all of their live-action movies (and many of the animated ones as well). Those existing HD masters are unusable on Blu-ray, so the studio has to remaster every catalog title they issue.

As opposed to Universal, who have been happy to dump any old dated DVD master onto HD DVD without remastering.

I wasn't holding my breath. All I was saying is that I'm sick of how they release things, and I'm sick at myself for importing PAL discs just to get anamorphic transfers, which is why I stopped. I realize I'll probably get senior discounts before I see movies like those on BD.
