So, I guess it's not the Preston Sturges film?

I'm trying to figure if they mean a Canadian film with a plot similar to the Sturges movie (my favorite of his, for what that's worth) or one that happens to take place around Christmas. If I were taking a wild guess, perhaps Mon oncle Antoine?

The strange/funny/ironic thing is after I saw this post last night I was watching Conan O'Brian and There was a hilarious joke about how Criterion Has announced a 3-disk Edition of Jingle All The Way.

Thanks for posting that link, because I found out "The Ice Storm" is going to get some Criterion treatment. That's one of those quiet-though-packs a punch dramas.

You might want to head over to DVDBeaver.com and check out the comparison between the Fox DVD and the upcoming Criterion. Based on their review, the Fox and CC DVD's tie for PQ. Pretty disappointing.

Criterion looks sharper but the colors look f-ed up? Is it just me or do they look much darker and more green than the blue they are supposed to be?
I'll still be picking this up though. sounds like a fantastic release.

The Criterion has the correct aspect ratio, the Fox does not.

I sort of think the colors in the Criterion version are more consistent in tone with the movie.

I don't know, some of those shots look very dark and green to me. Hey maybe that's the preferred look by the Director and DoP, but it is a pretty stark difference.

Is everyone green with envy?

I've actually never seen the film and had been looking forward to blind buying the Criterion, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe a rental is in order first.

The Ice Storm CC. I'll be picking this up but will probably hold onto the Fox pressing. There is a difference in colors and light between them, different enough.
