I expected this. The Spanish, English-friendly, DVD and BR releases were set a few days ago for April 1.

I will pick the BR. Thanks for the advanced info Mao.

Fantastic film, simply fantastic. I was hoping for more extras, but I can live with this.

I'd like to pick this one up, too. When I saw it theatrically, it felt a bit derivative to me. However, I loved the last 15 minutes. Thinking back to it, I realize I've grown fonder and fonder of it.

I posted the following in the HD section a couple of days ago but will add it here as well:

Warner/New Line will release "The Orphanage" on April 22nd on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Known below:

DVD:
2.35 16X9 Widescreen
Spanish DD 5.1 EX
Spanish 2.0 Stereo

Blu-Ray:

Forced English subtitles
Spanish subtitles
English Closed captions

Special Features on both versions:
"When Laura Grew Up: Constucting 'The Orphanage'"
"Tomas' Secret Room"
"Horror In The Unknown: Makeup Effects"
"Rehearsal Studio"
Still Gallery
and...

You can not have an original Spanish audio track with forced English subtitles and optional Spanish subs (unless, and this would be a new one for me, you get subs no matter what...but then forced English subs would be incorrect of a description as well).

Something is off here!

The Region 1 has a DTS-ES track on the DVD. It's too bad that the Spanish DVD gets 2 commentaries, deleted scenes, and a lot more making-of material but not for the US.

I found a site that lists the different Region 2 versions:

El Orfanato - Blu-ray (1-Disc)
El Orfanato - Edición Especial (2-Disc Steelbook)
El Orfanato - Edición Especial (2-Disc Steelbook) + Art Book
El Orfanato - Edición Especial (2-Disc Steelbook) + Script
El Orfanato - Edición Especial (2-Disc Steelbook) + Original Soundtrack
El Orfanato - Edición Especial (2-Disc)
El Orfanato - DVD (1-Disc)

Then there is the 1-Disc US DVD Release and the 1-Disc US Blu-ray Release.

Most of them seem to have different covers as well.

Here's the site: http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?n...ra=el+orfanato

All these different versions are a little ridiculous if you ask me.

these look good, but weird they have 4 different cover art for the SteelBooks. also, it seems like 3 of them are out of stock as there is no link to put in a shopping cart.

Anyone know where to find the steelbook+book or steelbook+script? Only seem to see the first one on sale at the places mentioned above.

Thanks!

Looks like they're exclusives to some stores like that FNAC one, and not necessarily online.
