I wonder if this is the end of the WDT? That is the lowest number of tins for all of the waves.

You gotta be kidding! Annette was extremely important during the early Disney television years. More so than any other Mouseketeer. She appeared on coloring books, toys, games and released SEVERAL money-earning records for the company.

She's a Disney star just as much as Mickey & Donald.

I ordered Donald Duck and Dr. Syn (total blind buy) from Best Buy and they shipped today. Dr. Syn really gets rave reviews from the amazon crowd, so I'm looking forward to it. 39,500 copies seems really low.

Tried and struck out at Wal-Mart this morning. I've seen previous waves there so I thought I'd give it a shot before work. The employee said they have them on the website only.

Someone over at GAC posted the list of shorts on the set:

Disc One
1951: Dude Duck, Corn Chips, Test Pilot Donald, Lucky Number, Out of Scale, Bee On Guard
1952: Donald Applecore, Let's Stick Together, Trick or Treat
1953: Don's Fountain of Youth, The New Neighbor, Working for Peanuts, Canvas Back Duck
From the Vault: Uncle Donald's Ants (1952), Rugged Bear (1953)
Disc Two
1954: Donald's Diary, Dragon Around, Grin and Bear It, The Flying Squirrel, Grand Canyonscope
1955: Bearly Asleep, Beezy Bear, Up A Tree
1956: Chips Ahoy, How to Have an Accident In the Home
1959: Donald in Mathmagic Land
1961: Donald and the Wheel, The Litterbug
From the Vault: Spare the Rod (1954), No Hunting (1955), How to Have An Accident at Work (1959)

Bonus Features: "Donald Goes to Press", "The Unseen Donald Duck: Trouble Shooters", Leonard Maltin and Jerry Beck audio commentaries on 2 shorts, 10 Mickey Mouseworks Cartoons

Disney fans will delight in "Chronological Donald, Volume 4," which includes 31 classic shorts starring Donald Duck. Each of these meticulously animated adventures was created between 1951 and 1961 and has rarely been seen. All of Donald’s CinemaScope shorts will be presented in their original widescreen aspect ratio for the first time on video.
According to the big cartoon data base there are 2 other 1955 cartoons that don't appear to be on this set:

Lake Titicaca (1955)
Blame It On The Samba (1955)

Does anyone know the story on these 2? Have they been prevoiusly released?

Those two cartoons were originally segements from two feature films (during Disney's Fantasia phase). Lake Titicaca was originally in Saludos Amigos & Blame It On The Samba was in Melody Time.

They were seperated and repackaged in the 50s.

My copy of Dr. Syn has shipped, and according to UPS tracking I should have it by tomorrow. Donald is now "shipping soon."

What are the cases like on these? Are they worse than ones they've used in the past?

Edit: Ah, thank you UPS for not taking Veterans Day off! Dr. Syn is now in my hands, arrived tonight. Donald has shipped too; should have it soon.

Wow, that's interesting. Still would have been nice though to have them as part of this set.

Agreed.

I just picked my copies up at Best Buy. I also got a sampler disc with 2 scenes from Disney's Bolt.

The Treasures should come in a tin. The new ones anyway. There are older ones that were released through Costco (I think) that had no tin but the new ones should have metallic tins.

The cases have the two discs on the right side, where one overlaps onto the other one.

I stop at my Best Buy today and they only have just Dr. Syn so I just got grab one since they only have just three copies left. Stop at Target and they have all three Treasuses wave so I also pickup Donald over there. I kind of wish that Best Buy had the Donald so I could use that 'Buy 2 for $40' on sale but I'm guessing because of the low number of the newest Treasures wave they couldn't get all of them in stock.

My Best Buy was picked clean. They only had two copies of MM Club left. Zero Donald or Syn. Target had all three however.

Amazon really f'ed up, I had put in an order way back in August, and the discs I got today where from Syn and MM Club, even though the latter disc was supposed to be Donald Duck - the Donald Duck link in my order jumped over to the MM Club disc which explains why I got it - needless to say, I know have to wait for the replacement disc and send back the MM Club disc in the mail - ugh...

I placed my order using the "Release List" link above and noticed the links were going to the wrong dvds. I had to fix them in my Amazon shopping cart.

Anyone else having problems with the "Dr Syn" discs. I'm getting errors on 2 different players. When I hold the discs up to the light - they're almost transparent - I can see the entire label side from the "play" side.

I had trouble with my Chronological Donald Duck v.4 Disc #2 on several of DVD players - "Donald and the Wheel" and "The Litterbug" had huge pixelation and freezing -- but played flawlessly in other players I tried. Perhaps those almost transparent discs are presenting a problem for some machines?
