I never got a chance to see Michael Clayton and American Gangster in theatres. So they're in my Netflix Queue. I'll probably end up getting American Gangster on dvd. It will be the first dvd i've bought since knocked up.

If Michael Clayton is good, I'll snag it on Blu.

Possibly Helen Mirren at the BBC, but I'd opt for the R2 UK release.

American Gangster: 3-Disc
In the Valley of Elah
LUST, CAUTION (and I'm horrified that hardly anyone wants to buy it. L,C should be tops on the Blind Buy list)

In the valley of Elah
Michael Clayton
Lust, Caution (NC-17 version)
Rendition

As for buying, I'm torn between the 3-disc and 2-disc American Gangster.

Does anyone think these bonus features on the 3rd disc sound worth it for the extra $10 bucks or so?

The 3-disc edition will include all of the above, along with a Hip-Hop Infusion featurette, a BET Special: The Making of American Gangster feature, a Dateline NBC: American Gangster First Look, a "Blue Magic" music video by Jay Z, a "Do You Feel Me" by Anthony Hamilton Featuring Ghostface Killah, Second Session Digital Files, and a theatrical trailer.

It's on my list, but I don't find it horrifying that people aren't buying it. It's the definition of a film for those with acquired taste. It would not appeal to most.

I find it more "horrifying" how many people are getting Amercian Gangster. IMO it was one of the biggest turds of last year. Not a bad film, just cliched, redundant, paint-by-the-numbers story & acting. And I like all the talent involved, but an utterly bromide film. But to each their own, I'm sure most would be put to sleep by Pierrot Le Fou, my most anticipated release of 2008 so far.

Only Pierrot Le Fou: Criterion Collection, which I pre-ordered from DVD Planet months ago...but still waiting for it to ship. (I guess I'm getting spoiled by B&N.com's free expedited delivery for members.)

And Rogue, based on your team loyalty, it's possible someone thought you were too busy avoiding Congressional subpoenas and/or phone calls for old trainers to do the poll last week.

Will definitely buy The Last Emperor. Michael Clayton is a blind buy. In the Valley of Elah and American Gangster are rentals.

I got the 3-disc American Gangster last night. That's it for this week. Fucking pumped for the Justice League New Frontier next week.
