I will never see this, but I wanted to point out how much I hate these gigantic "Digital Copy Included" logos that are popping up on DVD covers these days. Thank God for the "Live Free Or Die Hard" 2-disc unrated steelbook, or that cover would have been completely ruined for me.

awful movie, yet i will def pick up the 2 disc just because i love both franchises so much as well as making fun of this entire film. im hoping some retailers will put out out some silly exclusives.
also any excuse i will have to watch an alien walk through saloon doors in the back of a pizza joint is welcome on my entertainment system

I had fun with this movie, you can't expect much out of this franchise, I just take it for what it is, I enjoyed the action, blood and gore. This movie isn't really about any of of oscar winning acting anyways. I'll be picking this up.

That being said, I will at least Netflix this to see it one more time to give it one more shot.

I'll probably get this, since I have the original and it was harmless enough. I'll be even better sold if there's an exclusive at Best Buy or Circuit City (I doubt Target will have anything since it's rated R).

Any information on the Alien vs. Predator Blu-Ray collection? I don't really want this one, but I'd pick up the first AvP on Blu if it had all the features from the Unrated 2-disc set, and if the Blu-Ray 2-pack is the only way to get that, then I guess that's my only choice.

THis movie is one of the worst of all time because you can't see the dang thing. 80% of the time, I could not tell what was going on. I already have bad night vision, and the movie was mostly set in the dark pouring rain.
YOu know so was Blade Runner ,and you could see that movie just fine!

"The problem with announcing an "unrated" version of any film is the implication that it is, in some way, significantly different. AvP: R sports an unrated cut that is in no way different than the theatrical version. It's easy enough to determine this fact when the DVD offers an interactive Added Footage Marker which appears on-screen with incredible infrequency, and only for a scant few moments at a time. With the exception of some inconsequential and slightly extended gore, there are no new scenes here – no fully-restored sequences never glimpsed by audiences. Ultimately, the film feels the same as the original cut. It doesn't play faster, or proceed with increased brutality. It's pretty much the same time version, only two minutes longer, and serves as a prime example of the misleading nature of DVD marketing. There's nothing "special" or "extreme" about this. "

DVDtalk's review:
"Fox presents Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem in its unrated format on DVD. While some of you out there might be imagining globs of gore footage reinstated back into the film, the bulk of the footage is minor character development bits that don't do much to flesh out the story and simply make a bad movie a longer, bad movie. That said, the scene with the hunter and his son in the forest is slightly harder now and the scene where the Colorado National Guard shows up to eliminate the alien menace is noticeably bloodier. The majority of the reinstated bits are conversational snippets and little talky pieces, though there is an interesting added bit early on where a Predator finds a downed ship containing one of his deceased brethren."

recipe for AvP:Requiem
1) Shoot a black sheet for 60 minutes
2) Occasionally throw some red paint on the black sheet. Shoot for 10 minutes
3) Shoot 30 minutes of your friends hanging out - at a pool, in the house, drinking beer, talking about nothing
4) add about 5 minutes of tanks and people in military uniforms
5) mix well in random order
viola - you have just created AvP:requiem!

Question about the 2-pack (Standard Def). I have seen it listed on various online stores as a 2-Disc set, a 3-Disc set, and a 4-Disc set. Could someone who has purchased it please clarify for me exactly what the contents are (pictures would be nice, too)? Any input would be very much appreciated, thank you!

I thought that it was gonna be a 4-disc (2-discs for each movie) because of Amazon's listing, but infact it was just the 1-disc verison of each movie (but still unrated cuts).
I was thinking about returning it, but $23 for both movies is just too hard to pass up.
