Is anyone else really confused?
I remember way back when season 5 was announced FX made a huge deal about ordering 22 episodes for season 5. Did the strike shorten the episode order or something?

wow, thats a pretty quick announcement...
i was under the impression there were 22 episodes as well. But 14 makes more sense considering all the other seasons.
love the artwork.

from Wikipedia...
Season 5
Nip/Tuck has finished production for 14 of the 22 new episodes, although it's unclear whether the 22 will be two seasons or considered one long, expanded season. Regardless, the 22 will not run consecutively; Nip/Tuck's fifth season officially debuted on October 30, 2007. The last eight episodes will air in the fall 2008 according to variety and other interviews with FX executives and Creator Ryan Murphy.

I love the show, but instead of buying this when it's released, as I usually do, I'm going to hold off. I've found that you can get these for much less money in sales a few months after release date. In fact, I'm doing this a lot with TV sets. Probably just a reaction to the extra money I'm coughing up for HDM.

Gotta wonder if the next eight will be the final ones. It seems to be heading that way.

Wow, didn't expect this to be announced this soon. I could see the final episodes being in the Fall. I haven't enjoyed this season at all.

i know that Nip/Tuck can be pretty outrageous at times, but i simply love it. I agree with all that say that this feels like a whole new show. Moving the guys out to Hollywood really was a great move. My only complaint with this season is there is so much shit going on and not a common thread of a storyline... (Season 2 had the whole Matt/Tranny ordeal, Season 3 had the Carver, Season 4 had the whole organ stealing ordeal)
I just feel that Season 5 could definitely benefit from the full 22 episodes, just to tie up all the storylines. I have a feeling the remaining 8 episodes for the fall will be billed as Season 5 Part 2....
Of course the DVD collector in me hates that idea.

Count me in as another that LOVES this season. The move was exactly what this show needed after the horrendous 4th season. I don't like the fact that they're splitting up the season so much. There was the break over the holidays and now they'll probably leave us with a major cliffhanger until the fall to resolve this season's loose ends. I'll grab up this 5th season, but I'll wait until they have a really low sale price a few months after release. After just watching the season I don't need to rush out to buy it.

Looks like this isn't coming out next week after all.
Couldn't find it on DD or Amazon and it's not listed in BB's ad on the DVD Bargains page.
My guess would be it will be relased in August or September.

Well, unfortunately, no Blu-ray... which is my first complaint. And secondly... WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE PACKAGING??? This has become, by far, my biggest pet-peeve ever. I understand that its skinnier (being only part of a season... but did it need to be taller than the rest? And have that crappy plastic case inside instead of a digi-pak?
Ugh.
I just hate when studios feel the need to do this. Some other recent releases guilty of this... Entourage S5, Curb Your Enthusiasm S6.

Season 5 Part 2 airs next week and is only 8 episodes.
It's going to look weird for anyone who has these sets to have 5 box sets and then a 2-disc flipper for this continuation.
Expect more of the same for season 6, which has 19 episodes and will be split between 2010 and 2011.
