The Simpsons Season 11 ???
Fox usually released 2 season sets on DVD per year of the Simpsons (one in August, another one in December). For some reason we only got season 10 on August of 2007 and no season 11 on December. We are almost in February and the hasn't been any announcement of more releases. Does anyone know something about pending future releases of the Simpsons sets?

not sure how far along with special features they are, Not sure anyone has a legit word on that. Good chance the writers strike can hold it out, since they are not approving a lot of stuff for broadcast or dvd at the moment.

The question is, with the writer's strike still ongoing, will it have an effect on the audio commentaries? (provided that they haven't finished recorded one for each episode) Because I'm really interested to hear them try to defend some of the most maligned episodes in the history of The Simpsons. If they're anything like the commentary of season 9's "The Principal and the Pauper", then they'll be worth the price of admission.

Even though this is the season I think I switched off of the show on TV for a few years, I'd still pick it up. At least for the right price. I wouldn't pay $40.00 for this, but if I could snag it on one of the $19.99 deals that would be Ok.

Yeah, remember there was some extra time between 5 and 6, when they were deciding the next five seasons' packaging.
I actually didn't pick up season 10 (and I have all the others). Not that I wouldn't enjoy them, but I've probably got enough to satisfy my Simpsons' fix whenever I need it.

The average joe, many of them fans of The Simpsons, and many of the same which only care for the main feature itself... will not care about the commentaries. I buy a lot of DVD's, and I personally don't have the time in my life to waste away listening to commentaries on stuff I've already seen. I want to move along and watch the next thing.

For me, it's really gonna depend on the quality of the bonus stuff, if any. Aside from a handful of episodes, season 11 was pretty lackluster, and even those good episodes are hardly worth watching again and again. The commentaries have gotten progressively worse, as Mike Scully is boring to listen to (compared to the other showrunners). Still, I'll be interested to hear if he or any of the other writers will own up to some of most criticized episodes coming up in season 11.
That being said, no more buying Simpsons seasons at more than $30 from this point on.
