Not sure if these are Asylum, but these are in the new releases in the kiosks:

They aren't done by the Asylum, but man alive is Chop Kick Panda ever a hilarious knock-off name.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

I've only bought Mega Piranha on DVD & Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus on Blu-Ray, both from Echo Bridge and I have to say they were terrible, I could only watch a few minutes. Oh and I got I Am Omega in a 4-Pack and I watched the whole thing and it was pretty bad too. Glad to say that I'm in the process of getting rid of them!

For some reason I find echobridge home ent. interesting, I bought the Miramax Psycho Killer Series DVD and I've been wanting to buy My Boss's Daughter on Blu-Ray. I also really hope, Mill Creek will re-release Hot Chick on DVD and release it on Blu-Ray.

Boy, this company pisses me off. First I got Halloween Nights cause it said based on a true story. Only "true" story was that they threw a party. Didn't know When a Killer Calls was from them but that was horrible as well. After Halloween Nights, I said I would never be fooled by them again. I then saw Paranormal Entity and did not pay attention of who did this until later and boy do I regret it. Horrible, just horrible. I wish nothing but pain for this company for wasting my time.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

WalMart has a couple of compilations of Asylum pics available in the $5 bargain bins.

Picked up the Sci-Fi Movie Pack (10 movies) and the Sharks, Piranhas and Monsters (6 movies). Not all the films are Asylum (Existenz and Attack of the Giant Leeches are also included ).

So far I've only made it through the Cloverfield knock-off 'Monster'. Jeez, I was in fast forward mode about 7 minutes in, looking for the 'money shots'. It was fucking beyond dreadful and not at all fun.

Looking forward to more cheesy disappointment with Mega Shark VS Giant Octopus, Mega Piranha, War of the Worlds 2 ,3,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Invasion of the Pod People etc...

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

Asylum almost had me fooled yesterday when I was scrolling through new releases and saw "11/11/11". I had heard about Bousman's version (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1712159/) and was interested in seeing it. Apparently, THIS version (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015261/) is Asylum's knockoff.

The difference is there are slashes in the title instead of dashes. The real version is "11-11-11" whereas this turd is "11/11/11". Come on, Asylum.

Dude, Where's My Car? also says it's based on a true story, at the beginning of the movie.

I thought Mega Piranha was ok but I was getting tired of it near the end. I couldn't imagine doing a double feature of any of these films and not getting extremely bored.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

Yeah with their uber cheesy titles I was looking for stupid action-packed nonsense, but these films so far are pretty lite on the action and heavy on bad dialogue and lame exposition.

Mega Piranha seems to the best reviewed of their films...at least at Amazon. I'l check that one out next, but I hope it's at least action packed and super stupid.

There's a good amount of action in it to go along with the stupid. Have fun.

Honestly I actually really liked "Paranormal Entity", moreso than "Paranormal Activity"...

I think I was similar. Most are either going to like all of the 'paranormal' films or really hate them all I'd guess.

Okay... I'll say it: I really hope "Age of Hobbits" makes it to the SyFy Saturday line up one of these days.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

Cause it'll be so much more fun to watch with a SyFy bug and show promos onscreen with commercials every 5 minutes...

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

But they dropped the ball on this one, as its title doesn't have any word sounding like or having a similar meaning to "Buddies".
