Definitely hoping the full version of "Dear Mr. President" gets on the disc, that was priceless when I saw it on YouTube. Cutting it down to only the stuff about midgets was ridiculous. Putting the entire song in the film would've been fine.

On pure hilarity, I'd have to say the funniest thing that was actually included in the film was the quick cut from "Why don't you go ask Bob Dylan why he sounds like Dewey Cox?" to Dewey dressed exactly like Bob and speaking gibberish about a bullfrog and a mailbox.

The bit about "I know what happened to you! PATRICK DUFFY TAKES A BEATING!" not being in the movie after ending the trailer...man. So tragic.

It's also very nice that they're releasing this the same day as the extended cut of Walk the Line.

I didn't catch this one in theaters, since it didn't really look that funny, but good word of mouth will help make this one a blind buy for me. Also, being a big Apatow fans helps.

It's hard to say for sure, but the press release on DVDActive makes it sound like we're back to having separate theatrical and unrated releases, instead of having both versions be available on the unrated set (as was indicated earlier). I hope that's not the case, but it sure sounds that way.

From DVDActive:

Sony has announced 1-disc rated and 2-disc unrated editions of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story which stars John C. Reilly, and Jenna Fischer. Each will be available to own from the 8th April. Extras on the rated disc will include a commentary with John C. Reilly, Judd Apatow, and Director Jake Kasdan, deleted and extended scenes, full song performances, full musical performances, a Music of Walk Hard featurette, a Real Dewey Cox featurette, and a Line-O-Rama feature. The unrated edition will include all that, along with a Christmas Song From Dewey Cox, Tyler Nilson: The Man Behind the Penis or Tyler Nilson: A Cockumentary, a making of featurette, another featurette on the music, and a Last Word with John Hodgman feature. A Blu-ray release with all of the 2-disc features will also be available for $34.95.

Liking the cover for this one. And to Sony for both versions.

I hope there's more Beatles in the extended cut. I'd wish they'd make a whole movie about them in this movie.

I agree, except Jack Black was terrible. Replace him, I don't know with who, and you've got a great movie.

Sorry, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I was thinking of the Spinal tap commentary.

If you want to laugh more, watch Walk Hard as a double-feature with Walk The Line.

Wouldn't make sense considering Dewey Cox dies at the end of the film.

And I don't feel that is a spoiler considering:

(A) All of the films it's parodying are based on musicians who are dead.
(B) The song I was referring to (Have You Heard The News, Dewey Cox Died) is the last track on the film's soundtrack.

Amazon lists this as coming out on April 8. Has it been officially pushed back?

If so, I'm kind of glad. I'll be on vacation next week, far, far away from a Best Buy, Target, etc. If there's a good exclusive with this DVD, I don't want to miss it.

This film had a lot more problems than that one brief scene with Jack Black. I had stopped laughing long before that.

I agree that this movie had problems and wasn't great, per se, but I still enjoyed it. My post was referring to the idea of a movie about the "Beatles."

Wal-Mart seems to have a bonus disc:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=9236197

And looking at that huge price, it may actually be packaged with the 2-disc edition for once..? Oh, and Wal-Mart is claiming a 4/8 street date too. Hmm..

Yeah, it is good to have a Wal-Mart exclusive packaged with a 2-disc edition for once, but I'm going to have to pass on this one as the exclusive is a soundtrack sampler:

I already have the soundtrack, so for me it's not really worth the $34.18 (at least, that's the price online).

Best Buy's got a shirt packaged with the 2-disc edition.

Target has a calendar and an bonus disc, but only with the standard DVD.

Circuit City's 2-disc is only $15.99, which doesn't seem right. How much is it everywhere else?
