I am very curious about this. I want to judge its brilliance or shittyness for myself.

Any word of a BD or HD release? I'd assume we'll get a BD since Sony had theatrical distribution rights.

Very curious, since I loved Donnie Darko. I'm willing to give this a chance just because of the previous flick, but we all know how sophomore flicks can be, especially with how "out-there" this flick seems.

this is already given a DVD release? it didn't even open, did it?

With Buffy, Justin Timberlake, The Rock and Stifler, you'd think it would've gotten some promotion

Gonna grab this on DVD. One of 2007's overlooked greats.

The only word on it that I saw was on MovieWeb. I didn't see any commercials and it never hit theaters in my town. Was it a limited release or is this straight to DVD?

Hopefully we'll get the longer cut...I hear the shorter version is a mess. Of course, I've also heard the longer version is a mess.

I've heard so much about this film, from pure elation to vitriolic hate, that I feel like I NEED to see it... but I'm leery of a blind buy and I don't rent. I might have to wait for PPV or something on this one.

It can be a bit of a mess at times (especially the end which I felt squandered the potential it could have had to be something special and meaningful) but it is fascinating and I felt most of it worked very, very well.

Absolutely worst movie of 2007. If so many of you in this thread feel the need to find that out for yourself, rent it...please.

Do not buy this.

It had an extremely limited release (only 1 theater here in Chicago). I was personally enthralled by it and can't wait to see it again--especially if we're given the option to see the long cut. And I loved the ending as well; I thought it was all perfectly realized.

I really wanted to see this movie and actually had the chance since it was playing in my town (Santa Cruz, CA), but when I went to the theaters to see it - it was sold out for two days - and then classes started up again.

I'll probably blind purchase the blu-ray.

I hated it, but I cannot stress enough that it should be rented. Do NOT blind buy it, as, like everyone else in the thread has said, it's a really easy movie to love or hate. There's not much middle ground here, and it's a pretty risky blind buy.

I'm very interested in seeing this. Not sure if I'll love it or hate it, but I think I'll buy it just for the sake of having it around for the eventual RiffTrax.

No commentary? I'd think there'd be one with Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith.

Good or bad, this movie was the very definition of a cinematic mess.
