Very curious, since I loved Donnie Darko. I'm willing to give this a chance just because of the previous flick, but we all know how sophomore flicks can be, especially with how "out-there" this flick seems.

With Buffy, Justin Timberlake, The Rock and Stifler, you'd think it would've gotten some promotion

Hopefully we'll get the longer cut...I hear the shorter version is a mess. Of course, I've also heard the longer version is a mess.

I've heard so much about this film, from pure elation to vitriolic hate, that I feel like I NEED to see it... but I'm leery of a blind buy and I don't rent. I might have to wait for PPV or something on this one.

It had an extremely limited release (only 1 theater here in Chicago). I was personally enthralled by it and can't wait to see it again--especially if we're given the option to see the long cut. And I loved the ending as well; I thought it was all perfectly realized.

I really wanted to see this movie and actually had the chance since it was playing in my town (Santa Cruz, CA), but when I went to the theaters to see it - it was sold out for two days - and then classes started up again.
I'll probably blind purchase the blu-ray.

I hated it, but I cannot stress enough that it should be rented. Do NOT blind buy it, as, like everyone else in the thread has said, it's a really easy movie to love or hate. There's not much middle ground here, and it's a pretty risky blind buy.

No commentary? I'd think there'd be one with Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith.

looking forward to this release - i read the prequel GNs and i am curious to see how the story plays out. i do not recall it being released at any theater in my area.
