In one of the longer theater to disc (except for holiday movies) Warner Brothers is releasing the Emma Roberts movie Nancy Drew almost a full 9 months after it's theatrical release, June 15, 2007. It'll be a Wide/Full single disc release. Details at DVDActive.

I thought the days of rental-window delays were over. I've been loving the 2-3 month ones.

Jeez, a 9 month window, that's pretty damn long. Even for the 1990's!

The delay makes sense. It'd just get lost in the Christmas shuffle right now. Now it can come out just in time for Easter to go in the basket.

Damn, my daughter has been waiting for this. We went to BBV looking for it a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe it wasn't out yet.

It probably would have come out earlier if it had done better at the box office

Trying to understand this philosophy. So they wait longer to put it out hoping people will forget how badly it did at the box office? Wouldn't it make more sense to get it out quickly after a poor opening, so people will at least remember the advertising and the fact that this movie existed?
