Best DVD photo slideshow/presentation program?

Didn't know if I should post this hear or tech talk. If it belongs in the other, mods move 'er on over.

I am looking to make DVD photo albums of the pics I've taken over the year I've spent in Japan. They'll be gifts for the folks back home. Anyway, I was wondering what the best program out there would be for this sort of thing.

I'm looking to be able to have a slideshow type thing set to music but ALSO I want to be able to select the photos individually. Think the photo section of the Lord of the Rings Extended DVDs. I liked that type of layout. About 8 thumbnails on a page that you can click OR have the option to view the slideshow.

Suggestions?

I don't know if you can burn DVDs directly from iPhoto, but I'd imagine so. If not, I'd suggest iMovie (you can probably at least export a slideshow from iPhoto into iMovie). Of course if you're running Windows... beats me.
