What happens to your dvd collection when you die?
What happens to your dvd's when you die, or when your tired of collecting?
Will your family them keep them and watch them? Will they pawn your dvd collection?
Will you give it away to a charity?
Will they end in the garbage, or in the storage?
Will you try to sell them all on ebay as one big lot, or have a yard sale?
This is for the people with more dvd's then they can watch in one lifetime.

In honor of these threads,
If there was a fire, what DVD's would you grab?
Do you still buy a movie on DVD you loved, but are sick of now?
Why buy DVDs you don’t enjoy?
How many movies still wrapped?
DVDs: How many is too many?

If I was dead, I wouldn't exactly be in a position where I would care. But if someone who would appreciate and use my DVD collection as much as I did myself, got it, it would be nice. I've already arranged something like that if something would happen to me, anyway.

Yeah, seriously. First "What if there's a fire" thread, and now this?
I really don't think about these things. Well, actually I do, but I hate it. But I guess if I died *now*, my parents (being my closest living relatives and all) would probably get cheated sh*tless by doing the stupid thing and selling my collection way below it's actual worth.
Probably even moreso with my action figures.

They will be buried with me, along with a portable DVD player.

I will hold on to it for as long as possible. When I feel the end is drawing near, I will use my last efforts to get rid of it at a second-hand store. Whatever money I get I will probably buy candy and chocolate for it. Enjoy my last few bites. And then lie down to die.

Your famly will be stuck with dvds that will be worth next to nothing. They will end up selling them for a quarter each just to get rid of them. Think about all these collectors on here who buy every exclusive version of new release dvds and then think about how burdened their family will be stuck with the stuff.

Funny last week a couple of my co-workers were joke saying how they want to be in my will and split my dvd collection. I told them most of the titles they probably have anyway. My brother would be all over the collection if I died since his is so small. Since he is 15 and living at home this would annoy the parents, my mom likes to say I have too many. My defense is not on my favorite message board, people have thousands.

I have no will (yet), so mine will go to my wife via my state's intestacy statutes.
When I make a will, my wife will get them. If she predeceases me, my children will get them. They can do with them whatever they wish. Except for Star Wars. Keep it forever in all its glory.

I'm sure my wife will sort through them and keep any of the titles she's interested in and selling off the rest.
