If my place was on fire I wouldn't be worrying about grabbing DVDs, I'd be grabbing for one or 2 of the external HDDs which have EVERYTHING backed on them - 20 years of photos, 30 years of documents and spreadsheets and so on. There are no movies backed up on HDD though.

I wonder if all the people who answered this a few years ago have double-dipped those titles onto Blu-ray and if they'd save those, instead.

We have hundreds of DVDs and Blu-rays and I can't think of a single one I would waste a moment grabbing in the event of a fire. But, in the spirit of the question being which one do I have the most fondness for, perhaps the Seinfeld set because it was so expensive. If I had the honest opportunity to grab any physical items without endangering my family or me, I have a few records and definitely my hard drives (I'm in the same boat as danwiz in terms of no movies, just all my documents, photos, etc. on them).

Re: If there was a fire, what DVD's would you grab?

Assuming everything was already taken care of and I had a little time before flames engulfed my house, I'd grab my LOTR: Extended Editions boxset, The Hobbit (Part 1), and The Odyssey (OOP) first, then my Stargate SG-1/Atlantis collection, B5 collection X-Files collection, and as many others as I could grab, time permitting.

Come to think of it I should have a box I could grab quickly with all my favorites already in it, sitting by the door in case of emergency...

Yeah...maybe, if I was fucking loopy...

Hey Layziebones, I realize it's been a few years but if you happen to pop in here, how'd you make out? I hope everyone's OK...
