Thank you...did not realize he was the same character in both films!

I was thankful to see the 'I have no opinion' choice. Seeing as I'm a cheapskate who rarely if ever buys anything on the day of release, I don't keep track of these days. For those of you who do mark a certain release day as being the best ever, do you celebrate it on the anniversary of that date each year thereafter? ;)

The Kubrick box, Veronica Mars S3, and Days of Heaven: CC set me back a pretty penny today, but I'm glad to have them. First release day in a long time that I've actually looked forward to.

cheers,

Well, out of the releases I was interested in, today had:

Veronica Mars: Season 3
Stanley Kubrick: Director's Series
Young Indiana Jones Chronicles: Vol. 1
Days Of Heaven: Criterion Collection

I'm sure there have been better release days, but today was a pretty damn good one, as far as I'm concerned.

That's probably the next most anticipated DVD release day on my calander. I'm interested in picking up ALL of those (with the exception of Stardust).

Today was pretty darn good. I had to hold off on a couple things because it was getting too expensive.

matome 10-24-07 08:04 AM

No way. I just ended up buying a couple of non-Kubrick catalog Blu-rays and Hostel 2.

Sparrow 10-24-07 08:20 AM

Agreed, one of the greatest release days.

I have plans to pick up the Criterions, the Kubricks on BD and the I Love Lucy Complete Series, one of the most exciting release days for me in a while. Not the best on the purse, but I'm very pleased with the quality titles being released today.

JLBkret 10-24-07 08:45 AM

Not sure about the greatest release day ever but it was definitely the most expensive day for me ever. Spent over $400 at Walmart and Best Buy, that includes Soprano's Season 6 part 1 and 2. The Kubrick set, the Saw Trilogys, Hostel 1 & 2, Fido, Buried Alive, Ghost Hunters Season 3 Part 1, Taker 15-0, Rey Mysterio (only 1 set thank god) and Mr Brooks!

I don't really remember release dates, but 11-6-07 is looking good for Blu-ray.

The Aviator
Battle of Britain
Beowulf and Grendel
A Bridge Too Far
Oldboy
Cars
Ratatouille
Pixar Short Films Collection Vol. 1

I completely agree.

hotsexyboi 10-25-07 01:34 AM

there has been alot better days!

Clockwork 10-25-07 05:28 AM

The Kubrick boxset & seperate releases were major. Also picked up the Saw Trilogy, which is a guilty pleasure, but very enjoyable IMO. Was thinking, not sure I've ever picked up 2 boxsets on one day.

canaryfarmer 10-25-07 08:20 AM

The Kubrick releases would be a lot more important if they hadn't all been released multiple times in the past already (albiet with less impressive versions).
