Has anyone else heard of this? At first it looked like it was gonna be like Animatrix, but with Batman. However it looks like it's going to be done by American animators. I would've loved to have seen some stuff by the guys who did the animated shorts on Animatrix, but I'm still looking forward to this.

It's part of DC's line of straight-to-DVD movies. I think it's timed to come out when the next Batman film hits theaters.

Bruce Timm's involvement equals a blind buy for me.

We don't even know if Bale is, but if Heath was attached, his voice work would have been finished sometime last year. Voice work is always done before animation.

^ Me too. I'd love to have Mark Hamil back as the Joker. And, if not Bale, Kevin Conroy (I hope that's right) for Batman.

Not that IMDB is always right, but right on the front page it says Christian Bale is the voice of Batman.

Someone posted this on the IMDB message board. It was a scan from Wizard.

Looks like 6 stories from 6 different writers. It says it should be released prior to the July 18th release of "The Dark Knight."

From what I read, they are attempting to do with animation, what Batman: Black & White did in the comics. Great stories not tied to the Batman mythos/continuity.

I've been anticipating this one for a while. The Justice League: New Frontier movie is supposed to have a sneek preview. I'm really hoping for an HD release of this but none has been announced yet.

There is- it has been scheduled long ago for both HDM formats, although with Warner dropping HD by the time the movie releases it will probably only hit Blu.

Batmanime

looks awesome. Conroy involvement really raises the level of coolness on this.
