I picked up Dynasty Warriors Gundam for the Xbox 360 this week for my friend who is a huge Gundam fan.. and by playing the game it's gotten me a bit interested in the very original Gundam stuff (which I guess is Gundam, Gundam Zeta and Gundam ZZ?). Searching on Amazon is a pain with all the stuff that's out there, so I'm just wondering if they ever released a cheap box set for the series and where I can find it.

There is no boxset for the original Mobile Suit Gundam. It's only available as ten individual volumes which are out of print but aren't impossible to find. There is also the Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy which is the TV series re-edited into three movies with new footage added. The movies were available individually and in a boxset but are now out of print.

Also you should know that the TV series is only available dubbed in English while the movie trilogy is only available in Japanese with subtitles.

Zeta Gundam was available as a limited edition ten-disc thinpack boxset which is now out of print. It's also available as five two-disc sets.

Gundam ZZ has not yet been made available in R1.

Cool, thank you for the information.. I'll see if I can find the individual discs for the OG series, I'd probably have watched the English dub anyway.. that's a bummer that ZZ hasn't been released since my favorite character from the game (Elpeo Puru) is from that series.
