NICE! I'll probably get the unrated/extended even though I felt the movie ran 15-30 minutes too long anyway (like all the other Apatow films). Even so, this was my favorite movie of the summer. I'm really glad they are releasing this before Christmas too. Can't wait to pick this up!

I am wary of the Unrated/Extended. I agree that the movie is long as it is, and oftentimes I find "Unrated" footage to push a joke too far into gross-out territory (ala Anchorman). I would prefer that version to have both cuts.

Also I am wary of this release having different commentary tracks (ala Talladega) and thus forcing me to buy both releases. Double-dipping six months down the road and offering differing bonus features on the rated/unrated is the same thing in my book.

I'll probably get both versions, if only to get the R-rated cuts along with the unrated cuts (I like Apatow's extended cuts, but I'll admit that they tend to mess up the pacing of the movie; a flaw even the rated cuts have).

From what ive heard there was very little cut from the movie, like 5 minutes tops. So it shouldn't make much of a difference between the different cuts.

Great news about a 2-disc unrated. Hopefully this means a double-dip is not in the immediate future. Glad to have a new thread about this started since the last one seemed to belong more in the Movies discussion forum with the back and forth arguments and threadcraps.

Sweetness! I'm all over the 2-disc unrated edition. I hope they include a photo gallery entirely of penis drawings! Those killed me when I saw this.

Glad it's coming out so soon. BTW, this has to be about the longest a MAO thread has gone without someone saying "I call BS, where is your source?"

A single disc rated and two disc unrated again? So this is yet another case where you're gonna have to buy two DVDs if you want features and the theatrical cut? I'm getting sick of this with comedies. It's not that hard to include both cuts on the same DVD.

Confirmed where?

I don't think you can say something's "confirmed" without an actual source.

I second this request....

(Also, if they do put it out in high-def, let's hope they don't shortchange the disc from bonus features, like what happened with Knocked Up!)

Mao usually doesn't cite his sources but is always right. I think Transformers was the last street date he informed us about, and -- even though it was 2 months earlier than expected and people who didn't know of him were doubting it -- he was still right.

Oh fuck a pig, we go over this every time Mao posts news. Mao is all you need to trust here. He has an actual source, and now he's our source.

Try not to think of it as right and wrong. Mao is a guide, abrg923.

I'm sure the BD will debut day & date. This is a Sony title.

I'll wait for a reputable website to report it before I view it as etched in stone. I don't view a guy on a message board posting "Confirmed" as absolute confirmation, especially if he's not giving any information ("my sources in the industry tell me...", "the website www.blahblah.com says that..", etc).

I understand that he's been right before, and that's why you put such faith in it...but when someone gives such small detail, I find it skeptical.

Yeah, I might actually skip on an unrated cut. This movie is basically "unrated" in my eyes already

Two things:

1-Mao has been a longtime forum member and its currently one of the moderators.
2- Mao is known to work for the movie/DVD industry, so when he gives information, he is the source. Period.

Trust in Mao.

Amen to that. I guess some folks who haven't been around as long will find it hard to believe but Mao can be trusted and is very accurate.

Mao helped me through some hard times when my lady left. He washed and braided my hair. Made me grilled cheese sandwiches just the way I like (extra toasty!). And has let me borrow his car to get to my GED classes.

I trust Mao too.

Yep, been here eight years and Mao's word is The Word on DVD releases. Having said that I can't wait to get my hands on the Blu-Ray of this!

Any chance that the studio/movie theater chains would complain that we are posting this info too early?
