I lost my Simpsons Season 10, Disc 3...

is there anything I can do? contact fox to get a replacement disc?

I might have to repurchase this whole set as a last resort.

Quack 09-02-07 07:22 PM

If you still have the receipt, just take it back and say it came without it, I had to do that once cause I lost one of my Black Hawk Down DVD's and just brought it back to Circuit City and they replaced it very easily.

Smithers 09-02-07 07:24 PM

I ordered it on amazon.

Quack 09-02-07 07:26 PM

How long have you had it, you could try calling them and telling them it didn't come with a third disc.

bluetoast 09-02-07 07:33 PM

Don't worry, just locate the Fox TV department (number/email should be on this site), and tell them you lost it.

I lost one of the discs on Season 3, told them that it didn't come with it. (I had purchased it around 2 years prior, it somehow got lost...college...you know). All they did was ask where I bought it from, and they replaced it.

deto 09-02-07 07:49 PM

go buy one, anywhere. keep the missing disc and exchange the one you purchased.

But if the DVD is opened 99% of stores will only exchange for the same title, even with a receipt.

Yes, you should lie and steal.

Quack 09-03-07 09:03 AM

Yea 7keys....cause it's such a big deal to the store and Fox. :P

You should just hack into Fox's computers and set the warehouse to ship all of the Simpsons DVD's to you instead of the stores. Then you'll get your missing disc AND be able to sell all of the sets on eBay for profit since they'll become rare! Win-win!

My question is; how the hell do you lose a disc?

It’s not something you just put down on a coffee table or a stand. It either is in your DVD player or in the DVD case. I can see someone ruining a disc but losing it?

I've done it before but have always found them. If you have a large collection, and get lazy, its not uncommon to put a disc in the wrong case.

I missed the part where he wrote that he wants two season 10s.

Exactly. I have several thousand DVDs, and occasionally put the disc I've just ejected into the case of the one I'm about to play.

And yes, I have a pile of 4 or so empty cases with no idea where the disc is. Probably in the wrong case or binder somewhere, and it would take days to go thru all to find the missing ones.

So yes, losing discs does happen.

But I wouldn't call that losing a disc. Misplacing a disc? Yes. But losing?

True! That means I'll find Pushing Tin and Matrix now that I've rebought both.....

And to be thorough, they could be in the wrong cases/binders, or with friends, in piles of clutter around the house, accidentally thrown away in piles of clutter, or who knows where. So they may indeed be lost and not just misplaced. :(

I've really got to get organized....

Well, my brother had a Family Guy disk that was all scratched to hell, he called them and they let him just send the individual disk in.

Not that I condone doing it, and perhaps my math is wrong, but if he exchanged his copy of Season 10 with the missing disc for another copy with the disc, like so many others in this topic have suggested, then how exactly would he have two Season 10's in his possession?

At the most, he'd have two copies of one disc, assuming he were to find that disc

Oh, now I see, I’m way too anal of a DVD Collector to make a mistake of putting the wrong disc, in the wrong case. If anyone looks at my DVDs the wrong way I throw a raging fit.
