Was "Enter the Ninja" ever released on DVD?
With Franco Nero and Sho Kosugi
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082332/
One of the better ninja movies as nothing unrealistic was done.
Ok, other than a white Ninja hiding in the dark.....

Review of DVD 1
Review of DVD 2
Nothing amazing and I saw it for £1 when in the UK. They have shops called "Poundland" that had it.

All I remember about Ninja III was my friend's step dad lunging for the remote when the (lame) sex scene came on to fast forward past it.
He was ok with the violence, however.

It would pretty much be the same if we weren't talking pornographic levels of sex or violence. If one was a video of a nudist colony and one was boxing or MMA, again, I'd rather the child be exposed to nudity.
NOTE: I do not have any children. Laff...
To stick to the general thread topic, I too enjoy collecting these films. I have ten or eleven of them so far. I've got some watching to do! NOTE: thumbs up to 36th Chamber, The Protector (which I saw in the theater), and King Boxer. Can't wait to check out the commentaries too!

Yeah, I guess I should stick to the thread topic as well.
I have actually never seen Enter the Ninja so I would welcome a R1 release.
I actually saw Ninja III first, then Revenge of the Ninja. We never got around to seeing Enter the Ninja.

Was ETN the one that has a scene where a ninja is walking with a handful of mini Chinese stars and someone is sneaking up behind him and the ninja tosses the mini stars and they land on the guys face?
That scene is forever embedded in my brain from my childhood, but I don't remember which film it was from?

The UK release is indeed edited and the PQ is quite poor. There's no better release to my knowledge. The situation with other Sho Kosugi ninja flicks on DVD isn't much better.
Revenge of the Ninja is released in R1 as open-matte as is Rage of Honor.
Pray for Death or Ninja III - Domination are MIA. I haven't been able to found any DVD releases for them.
Nine Deaths of the Ninja has a decent quality anamorphic release at least in Scandinavia.
Not related to Kosugi, but American Ninja 1-3 was recently released as a anamorphic collection in the UK. AN 1 is also anamorphic in R1, but 2 and 3 are open-matte.

It was definitely Revenge of the Ninja.
He is picking a lock at the time. A security guard approaches. He throws out some spikes on the floor and some steel marbles. Security guard slips on the marbles and falls face first on the spikes and comes up screaming with them embedded in his face.

Yeah, Revenge of the Ninja getting released made me hope for more Canon, Golan/Globus, 80's ninja film goodness but sadly it just hasn't happened in the US.
Well, this year MGM released Gymkata, which, sorta' had ninjas..... but that just isn't enough. We need more.
And, Sho Kosugi needs to emerge from his misty mountain retreat and get back to business.

A little off of the ninja topic but has Kill Or Be Killed and Kill and Kill Again ever been released to DVD?
These were some of the grindhouse martial arts flicks my dad would take me to go see when I was a kid.
