Field of Dreams WCE -- is it anamorphic?
The version of "Field of Dreams" offered for $3.99 this week at CC (hope I don't get in trouble for this) is the Widescreen Collectors Edition, not the 2-disk version that Speedy reported. Does anyone know if this version is anamorphic? It doesn't say anything on the package, and Amazon doesn't report it as such, so I suspect not. But still hoping.

I don't think it is, but I'm not 100% sure. I think that Universal re-released the single disc '98 Field of Dreams (non-anamorphic) dvd under the Universal All-Stars banner; which is the one on sale.

I own the region 2 version and there’s no mention on the back cover about, (anamorphic) enhanced, just that its framed at 1.78:1.
And a damn good sleeper from 1989 I defy anyone not to like this it’s charming cheerful and tearful as well as being a true fantasy masterpiece. “Hay is this Heaven?” “No, it’s Iowa.”

You can just get the 2 Disc Anniversary Edition from Best Buy and pricematch it to Circuit City's ad. On another note: Why is Circuit City advertising the 2 Disc Anniversary version in their ads and then selling a different version? This also happened to 21 Grams.

This is the version shown in the ad and revealed by my super-magnifier. Please note the Letters across the top of the case indicating it is the Anniversary Edition (2 DVDs):

Juts a note on the CC $3.99 sale.
Mine had lots of the old 21 Grams and Filed fo Dreams discs in the bin but if you go to the shelves and find the better versions they ring up as $3.99 as well. Pretty sneaky for CC to put out the others hoping nobody will notice.

Make sure and watch the register if you are buying the WIDESCREEN version of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I found the last copy of it and it rang up $9.99. I had the cashier change it. Apparently, CC feels it's necessary to only have the full screen version on sale.

What irritates me about Circuit City is they have all those titles in the ad, and then only have about half of them available at the store. If you are advertising all these titles, wouldn't you make sure that you ship them to the stores so they have them in stock? I was there when they opened, and didn't see half of them, including one of the ones that I wanted to buy.
