"LOL Funny!" would at least manage a smirk out of me when I glance over it on the rack at Target.

Wow, what an all around mess this was. In a way, I'm kind of glad, though. Steve Carell needs to be brought down to earth just a bit.

I've seen worse cover art but I agree it looks pretty terrible. It looks like Steve Carell is looking up at Morgan Freeman & thinking, "Do you have to be in every god damn movie ever made?".

I like how it says on the promotional page, "$100 million comedy hit!". It's like saying just because it made $100 million (& we lost $75 million) has to mean it's laugh out loud hilarious!

Well it's not for potential customers/viewers, that's a promo sheet for retailers/rental place buyers. It's trying to promise rentals/sales based on star and box office performance. The really good ones are for the small films that still tell you it grossed "$6.7 Million!"

To be fair, $100 million box office says more to quality than budget does. Not to say all movies that make money are quality. Far from it. But making $100 million suggests some people wanted to see it and it has some marketing value. Budget has no relevance to whether people want to see it.

Yeah, whether it was profitable or not, $100 million worth of people went to see it, so it wasn't just empty theaters.
