I don't think the Blu-ray part of the equation is an error, I asked when the Weinstein Company would start releasing Blu-ray discs, and their Video Rep told me specifically that Death Proof and Planet Terror would be their first Blu-ray releases. But, they had no street dates...

Now, that being said, leaving HD-DVD off of the statement might have been an error, since they've already published stuff on HD DVD. (Although, in a way, they've becom the Fox of HD DVD the last month or so...)

For now it's just a rumor, but something's going on....

Great, I wasn't going to pick up the individual Deathproof or Planet Terror releases, but I can't resist a sexy steelbook. Best Buy Canada (or Future Shop) better be getting these.

I'll be pissed if they are only BB US exclusives.

Sometimes Future Shop (in Canada) gets the same exclusives as Best Buy US, and sometimes Best Buy Canada gets the Best Buy US. It's anyone's guess really, since Best Buy owns both chains. They just better come to one of them.

According to the Weinstein rep, the steelbooks will be a US best buy exclusive - no plans to sell it in Canada.

best buy os now selling a special edition of 300 at their booth.

Contains the 2 disc set and a miniature mask.

They're saying its a comic con exclusive and is numbered. I can't remember if they were selling 400 or 4000.

Price is $50

Has there been any news about Warner Brothers animation on DVD to come out of the comic con so far? They teased that they had something that was going to be announced at the last HTF chat.

Here are the pictures of the "300" DVD set that Best Buy was selling:

Like with the Vendetta masks, they need to realize that if they give us a mask, it has to be one we can wear!

Photos from Thu/Fri/Sat are uploaded now. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7731074@N04/sets/

Thanks for all the pics SPIDERone! Looked like it was a blast! One of these years I will get to check one out for myself, right now i just watch the highlights on G4.

I feel bad for the one-legged chick It just looks very uncomfortable to stand up there like that LOL

I'm sure it was very uncomfortable for her - in addition to the awkward gun leg, she was on a bumpy stage (with a small carpet) and wearing a high heel booth with a chain attached!

Add in the dozens of people around her at all times snapping photos and posing for pictures (where she would need to readjust herself to meet their height), she has more guts than I do! There were some rude comments from the crowd and she did look a bit uncomfortable at times but she held in there and did a great job - I just hope Weinstein is paying her well!

I had a blast this year. Met a ton of people I've wanted to see forever (just met Milla today!), bought a lot of junk I didn't need and had a great time doing it. Unfortunately I still have 1 more day to go

I went to the "Heroes" panel and they mentioned the DVD and HD DVD releases. The HD sounded nice with a lot of interactivity. As a side-note it was a very cool panel. Pretty much the entire cast showed up and it was a fun time.

If she is smart, or has a smart manager, she should be well paid. Unlike the dime-a-dozen pretty faces in hollywood who have no negotiating leverage at all, the number of women capable and willing to do that job has got to be miniscule. And rarity equals negotiating power.

Unlike most special editions that force fans to buy the same movie again, however, Smith said Criterion will offer a package of just the bonus disc of new featurettes, letting collector’s supplement their current copy. A separate two-disc set will include the original disc and the bonus disc.

So, it appears it won't be a new transfer. But there ya go.
