Twice, apparently. Honestly, was there someone out there asking for this? Other than Tara Reid hoping to cash in on some residuals...

I would actually like to see this (as a free rental, of course). If only to see what Uwe thought needed to be improved.

It sold well enough so that...

ALONE IN THE DARK 2 could go into production in August, which it is.

Starring Lance Henricksen.

Can somebody make a screencap from whatever Back to the Future movie had McFly screaming "NO! OH, GOD, NO!"

I honestly have not subjected myself to a Uwe Boll movie, but they can't put Lance motherfucking Henriksen in that shit. I mean, BISHOP!

Yes! The greatest masterpiece from the greatest living video game-to-movie director of all time gets to deliver his ultimate cut of Alone in the Dark.

I won't mind seeing this, once it hits cable.

According to imdb.com, there is one or two onscreen graphic deaths which were offscreen in the original cut. And the clothed sex scene with Tara Reid is deleted. At least this is what is mentioned for the "DC" release in Germany running three minutes longer.

I have'nt seen this entire film yet. But I heard Bolls commentary is hilarious when the sex scene comes up. Since I guess he goes into a rant dissing Reid for refusing to show her breasts in a sex scene!

The commentary on House of the Dead was pretty entertaining/hilarious. So I'm curious to 'suffer' through the commentary on Alone in the Dark someday.

It amazes me how Everyone seems to hate Uwe Boll and his movies, yet, he still gets movie deals. I turned off the original Alone in the Dark about 45 minutes into it. I couldnt imagine watching a Directors Cut. I just hope he doesnt totally butcher Far Cry.

The word on that is it's due to some screwy German tax loophole that allows writing off movies, so it doesn't matter if they make money or not. Without that loophole, Uwe Boll would probably be out of the filmmaking business.

It's called "stupid german money" - google the phrase with quotes. Thing is, stupid german money has paid for part of almost every film out of hollywood in the last decade or so, so why Uwe Boll (apparently) gets more than anyone else, German or not, is still a question. Also, apparently the law was changed a year or two ago to make money-losing productions less attractive.

Edit: fixed typo

It's actually "stupid German money" (no "y"). "stupid germany money" returns zero results (surprisingly).

Uwe Boll is second only to Stanley Kubrick in the pantheon of great directors. I'm certain his new cut of what was aleady a masterpiece will change my life.

I see what you were trying to do there!

Anecdote: My wife and I went up to Atlanta to stay with some friends and for her to attend a dance workshop a few years ago. This was a weekend when a pretty huge ice storm blanketed the area and most everything was shutdown or delayed. A group of us were sitting around the house, getting bored, and decided to go find a movie theater. After over an hour of calling and driving, we found one theater open, and the only movie that wasn't sold out was Alone in the Dark. We watched it, groaned throughout, and then salvaged the night by playing DDR in the arcade until we could smile and laugh again.

good times...

Pourquoi? Apparently the movie sold well enough for this, but this is (honestly, no exaggeration, no kidding) my #1 worst movie that I have ever seen. I guess to each is their own, I just tuned it out after 30 minutes, didn't cut it off though.

I'm speechless. If they cut all of the movie and edited back together an all new movie I still would not watch it. What trash.

You're kidding, right? Lance motherfucking Henriksen is the reigning king of godawful horror and scifi movies. These days, I'm surprised when I find a low budget horror flick in which Henriksen doesn't show up. Alone in the Dark (which I agree was terrible) is higher profile than most of the shit he's in.

Yeah, usually he's starring in "Pirates of Treasure Island" or "Pumpkinhead 4" or "Hellraiser 8: Hellworld"

and thats make a name out of him.

If he totally destroys it.. howcome you got the chance creating a thread out of it in the first place?

Anyways, wouldnt it be interesting to see what made this DVD release to get a 2nd edition treatment?
