i'm guessing this is true of both the single-disc release and the 3-disc special edition? does it apply to both the dolby digital ex and the dts tracks? does it also apply to the stereo tracks? thanks in advance.

That's it. And let's not forget about the booklet, which is in German though... :)

1. The sound issue on Suspiria is both on the single and three-disc sets -- as the first disc is the exact same (with the exception of different disc art). I'm assuming, with the exception of the changing of logos from AB to BU, the disc will be exactly the same (such as Inferno and Deep Red).

2. AB is re-issuing Demons and Demons 2 when BU releases their batch of Argento. Fangoria stated that both discs would have brand new transfers, but I haven't seen any other evidence yet to confirm that.

Yeah I need The Beyond. I finally got to see it a few weeks ago.

Anyways, as for Manhattan Baby, you can get it pretty cheap new and sealed from Amazon Marketplace and Half.com:

Thanks for pointing out that Manhattan Baby is still available! I guess I just have to hold out for Blue Underground for Phenomena.... but what about The New York Ripper.

Also not really set up for all region or PAL....

thanks for confirming that part. just to clarify a bit further, does the issue exist on all of the audio tracks of the dvd? (or just the DD5.1 or just the DTS)?

It's across all the soundtracks. It's an issue with the masters that were provided from overseas.

However, Blue Underground doesn't own the rights to the film much longer. The Weinstein Company picked up the rights to the 30th anniversary edition (which was struck from the original negative) back in May, so once BU's rights expire, you'll most likely see a new DVD release (and maybe HD-DVD as well).

it's already been pseudo-announced that a HD-DVD edition of 'Suspiria' will be released in the 4th quarter from the Weinsten Company.
