I cannot believe this did not come with a slipcase! Direct to DVD Wrong Turn 2 gets a slipcase while this A-List title does not?! Unbelieveable.

Really? We're getting upset over slipcases now? People used to consider them a nusiance.

I was considering getting the Blu-ray version, but ended up watching the regular DVD instead. The PQ on the DVD was so good, if I do ever buy the movie, I probably won't be getting the hi-def edition.

Great flick, highly recommended.

I should've included a ;) in my previous post.

I stood in Best Buy for several minutes knowing that a better two disc SE was going to come out eventually. I almost didn't buy it, but the package deal with Wrong Turn 2 made convinced me. That, and the fact that I missed it in theaters so I knew I would end up renting it anyway, adding the rental price to the eventual cost.

You really think this will get the two-disc treatment? I doubt it, maybe repackaging.

I had a GC to Borders, so I went there tonight. They had the boxed set of 28 Days/Weeks for $24.99 so I picked it up.

Can't wait to watch Weeks, after like 4 viewings, I began to really love Days.

Entropy 10-09-07 11:14 PM

Wrong Turn 2 was a serious failure IMO. 28 Weeks did pretty well. I was very disappointed that they used the cover they did. I was hoping for the 'Quarantine' cover that matched the poster, I'll be waiting for the SE

Wrong Turn 2 was released Straight to DVD so how is it considered a failure?

Entropy 10-09-07 11:39 PM

No, it failed to have any positive notes, none. I expected it to be bad but I did not expect a black hole.

The first film had some decent moments at least.

Really? From every other review i've read, people have said that the acting sucks but that there is some really good gory kills, so what did you expect from a straight to dvd sequel?

If the plans for 28 Months Later go through, you can bet we will get a special edition of this one.

My DVD is weird. Whenever there's fast action sequences, it gets all choppy like it's missing 10 frames a second or something like that. Some motion (like a hellicopter flying or people running) is ok, but other motion is completely choppy. Is everyone's copy like this? I think my copy of "28 Days Later" had the same problem, but it wasn't this bad!

It's far better than the first one, and if you want some "positive notes", Chud.com LOVED it:

And they tend to be very tough.

I'm confused. Which movie are you guys saying "failed to have any postive notes"? "28 Weeks Later"? Or "Wrong Turn 2"?

They are saying Wrong Turn 2 failed to.

If this is far better than the first one i will be taking it off my netflix list, because wrong turn 2 was pretty bad. 1 or 2 pretty cool killings, but the rest is pretty forgettable. It only cost $7, but i think i will stay away from straight to dvd blind buys for now on.

Entropy 10-10-07 03:10 PM

I tend not to rank how good a movie was by the amount of gory kills. The character development stank, and I still think the first one was far better.

Yeah! Somewhere this thread took a Wrong Turn! :rimshot:

Entropy 10-10-07 04:35 PM

Well, to be slightly on topic, 28 weeks later was much better then I was expecting, not stellar but good. I just really hope they don't drag the sequels out forever.

Panda Phil 10-11-07 07:36 AM

Liked it overall, but '28 weeks' plot does suffer from a bad case of 'What kind of morons are running this operation?' -itis.

Definately need to find a hight-rez copy of that 'Quarantine' poster though. This disk is screaming for a replacement cover.

Lecithin 10-11-07 08:46 AM

Missed 28 Weeks Later in the theater because I knew I would get it on DVD. I don't really want to pay $18 for it though and the 2 for $25 BB deal this week is good, except I know I don't want Wrong Turn 2.

I think I will wait for the inevitable availability of this DVD in one of BB's sales in the $9.99 or less range. Hopefully, no later than Black Friday, it will be in one.

My thoughts exactly, though I'm renting Wrong Turn 2 first. If I like it, then the 2 for $25 deal at BB is good. If I dislike Wrong Turn 2, it was only $4.25 spent.
