I found it in the walmart bin sometime ago. Its an HBO thing so I doubt Criterion will be releasing it any time soon.

Well, it's FS, but it's a great movie and it has a GREAT John Waters commentary. Get it while you can. If HBO didn't license it to New Line as part of their John Waters' collection, It doubt it will ever get a re-release.

It's widescreen, not FS.

The disc isn't anamorphic, though, if I remember right.

I can confirm that. I just popped my copy in the player. It is non-anamorphic widescreen.

Yeah, too bad it's not anamorphic, but I picked it up at Walmart for less than 5 bucks. Worth the price (and then some) just for Waters' commentary (he does a great job as usual).

It's been out of print for a while now, however the price has been somewhat stable. I would recommend grabbing one now.

While the transfer is non-anamorphic, it's also 1.66:1, and its fairly common practice to not encode them in anamorphic. Some companies do, I have at least 3 DVDs that do, but I have more that don't.

It's still a good release, snapper and all...

Serial Mom has always been one of my favorite black comedies of all time. I just recently rewatched it and was upset that it's not 16x9. The most promising aspect of it being OOP is that a new SE should be around the corner at some point.

if that's right, there will be 40 minutes of additional scenes. Sold!

Who am I kidding, I love this movie so much, I'll probably buy it either way.

I think 135 was a typo. Probably should have been 1:35 - which would mean maybe a couple of extra minutes.
