According to a poster at the Criterion Forum, Fox is working on another big promotion for the end of this year...a dual-set containing the 20th Century Fox films of Frank Borzage and F.W. Murnau. The Murnau films will be Sunrise and City Girl; presumably the old disc of Sunrise will be used here, as well as most; if not all, of Borzage's surviving silent films made at Fox, including surviving fragments of The River, and his beloved trilogy of Janey Gaynor melodramas.
By far a more exciting prospect than the Ford box, as only one of those films have had an English friendly DVD release. Borzage was one of the best directors of the American silent cinema.
Now if only Warner would get around to *their* silent catalogue. Wink.
