Veronica Mars: The final Season --> October 23, 2007
I can't believe there isn't already a post on this.
TVshowsondvd.com has posted the press release for the third and final season of 'Veronica Mars.'
And it looks like where finally getting some special features worthy of the show:
- Gag Reel
- Deleted Scenes w/ Rob Thomas Intro
- CW Webdocs with Cast Interviews and Set Tours
- Featurette w/ Creator Rob Thomas discussing the third season
- Featurette about the potential fourth season with Veronica as an FBI rookie
Personally, I'm buying the set first and foremost for the 'Veronica FBI' featurette. Too bad there arn't any commentaries though. Hopefully if Warner Brothers ever does a complete series, they include an extra disc or two with featurettes and a handful of commentaries...

Still no commentaries?!? That's not just "too bad", that there is a consummate disgrace.
Oh, well, I'll still buy it as soon as the video store opens at 10:00. (9:45 is they open early).
Unless, of course, they announce an HD edition between now and then. Or if I haven't bankrupted myself buying every other TV show that comes out a month earlier.

Totally bizarre about the dearth of commentaries. You'd think Rob Thomas would have a few things to talk about...
I really, really, really hope the 4th season trailer is included in its entirety.

I'm definitely excited about this and I really hope that the show gets a fourth season. I gotta get my fix somehow and I can only watch the DVD's so many times.

The creator has expressed interest in continuing the story in comic form (a la 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'), but thats a few years off.

There's unofficial word that DC/Wildstorm will be doing a comic version this fall. I'd prefer seeing Kristin Bell in a live action medium, but it's better than nothing. Also a big fan of this show.

Thanks for the info! I had heard about the official cancellation but I was still hoping maybe there was a chance. I hadn't heard about the comics however and I am intrigued.
Why do all the good shows seem to get cancelled after 2 or 3 seasons? It seems like every show that I start watching ends up being cancelled before I can even catch up.

Yeah, UPN deserves credit -- any other network would've dumped the show after the second episode.
I just don't understand why the box isn't plastered with quotes from Stephen King, Joss Whedon, and Kevin Smith saying how great the show is. That would certainly boost DVD sales

I'll be getting this. Also, on the shows myspace page they've put some funny skits with the cast on over the past season. I hope those show-up somewhere on the dvd's.
Also, if there is possibly an extended scene of Logan whupping on Piz that would be a plus.

Anyone see the new Hot Pockets commercial featuring the actor that played Wallace?
