Alligator: SE coming 9/18

According to Fangoria.com:

"ALLIGATOR, meanwhile, will arrive a week earlier on Sept. 18. A source tells Fango that this disc will have a widescreen transfer, the commentary by Teague and star Robert Forster from the previous Anchor Bay UK disc, a new interview with scripter John Sayles and a trailer."

Sweet. I held off on the AB UK disc so it's nice to see some of the extras showing up here. The only downside is that Alligator 2 won't be incluided. I hope they get that out sometime soon. Pure cheesy fun.

Will it be AB/Starz releasing it in R1? I already have the UK edition. Doubt I'll double-dip for this. The only way to include Alligator 2 is as a double feature. No way I'd buy it on its own. BTW Cannabis, love your about me quote on DVDSpot.

Thanks. I completely stand by that statement. It is true, Bronson is full-bodied, robust, sometimes sweet; but he'll always kill you.

Wow, I remember watching this on TV numerous times as a kid. It probably doesn't hold up now that I'm grown up, but I suspect that's something I'm going to learn the hard way!

I also held off buying the R2 release, and don't consider the lack of Alligator 2*to be any loss - I'm in.

You might be surprised. I think it lived up to my memories of it. The creature effects are a little dated but look pretty damn good. Now it would be all CGI.

This is great. I've been wanting a copy of this for years. Good releases coming from LG. Widescreen Cujo and now this.

A widescreen transfer? Was this a DTV release? I first saw it in 2000 on The Sci-Fi Channel, and I figured it was something made for TV. Photography had the look of something cheap from the early '80s.

It had a theatrical release. [sarcasm]I think it was overlooked at the Oscars for cinematography [/sarcasm]. It showed up on TV quite a bit after its theatrical run.
