Text Commentaries...

I can't seem to find any sort of collected list of text commentaries (trivia tracks accepted as well) out there, either through Google, Yahoo or Ask. Does anyone know of a list out there?

If not, I figure why not start one? I've gotten these DVDs thus far (as of 7/18/07):

15 Minutes*
The Abyss (2-disc): text commentary
Airplane SE: trivia track (kind of like VH1's pop video stuff)
Animal House: Double Secret Probation Edition
BttF trilogy
Blow*
Boogeymen (Vol. 1)
Bring It On: trivia track (animated anecdotes)
Butterfly Effect*
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe= trivia track
Chronicles of Riddick: Riddick Insider (trivia track)
Clerks X- disc 1: trivia track; disc 2: 2004 video commentary
Daredevil: 2 disc version- text commentary
Die Another Day
Die Hard- text commentary, much of it culled from interviews
Dr. Who (virtually all of 'em)
Elf*- Infinifilm/fact track
The Fifth Element (Ultimate Edition)- fact track
Final Destination 2*
Frequency
Friday after Next*
Full House - Season 1
Ghostbusters: MST3K-style commentary
The Girl Next Door- text commentary
Gladiator- Extended Edition (3 disc)
Goldmember*: it seems the fact track and "pop-up prompts" are linked together, wish you could pick one or the other
The Great Escape
Hot Fuzz (?...July 31 release!)
House of Flying Daggers- subtitle for commentary by Ziyi Zhang & Zhang Yimou
Ice Age
Ichi the Killer S.E.- subtitle for commentary by Hideo Yamamoto & Takashi Miike
Jackie Brown- enhanced trivia track
The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky (Fando y Lis / El Topo / The Holy Mountain): commentary subtitles (Spanish to English)
John Q*
King Arthur- Knight Vision (trivia track)
Kingdom Of Heaven- Enginer's Guide (trivia track)
Leon - The Professional (Deluxe Edition) fact track
Mad Max: SE
Mary Poppins: 40th Anniversary Edition
Men in Black: MST3K-style commentary
Monty Python Holy Grail
The Muppet Show (Season 1)
Muppets in Space: MST3K-style commentary
Night Watch
A Nightmare On Elm Street*- fact track
Not Another Teen Movie- "Teen Movie Factoids"
Planet Of The Apes 1968
Planet Of The Apes: Two-Disc Anniversary Edition (same as above?)
Predator (2 disc C.E.)
Pulp Fiction
Road House SE
Rush Hour 2*- fact track
Scary Movie
Seed Of Chucky- Unrated & Fully Extended
Seinfeld (all of em!)
Shaun of the Dead- "Zomb-O-Meter" fact track
Shrek: Two-Disc Special Edition- subtitled commentary (disc 2 only)
The Simpsons- illustrated commentaries for select episodes on Seasons 4, 5, 6
Spider-man 1&2- "Weaving the Web" (pop up factoids); Spidey Sense 2 (trivia track)
Spider-Man 2.1 (different from the "regular" part 2?)
Star Trek (all films, The Original Series, The Animated Series)
The Sure Thing: Special Edition
Tears of the Sun
T-2 (Extreme)- Interactive Mode
Thirteen Days*
Trading Places: "Looking Good, Feeling Good" Edition
Valley Girl SE
Waking Life- text commentary
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?- Toontown Confidential
Young Guns (SE)

*=Infinifilm

NOTE TO SELF: sort out trivia tracks, text (only) commentaries, subtitled commentaries.

Think you have to give people more than a 2.5 hour window to respond!

You mentioned Star Trek, but all 10 of the movies have these. The Original Series sets also list them, but I haven't watched them yet.

I think of these as trivia tracks as opposed to commentaries. We are talking about the same thing, right?

Yeah, rather than list all the films individually, it's the bunch. I'll make an edit to clarify that a bit more.

I'm adding the rest to my list in the initial post.

Everyone feel free to contribute as you find more (either in your own collections or wherever online in general)!

Does the Jodorowsky box set count since he's talking in Spanish the whole time with subs? Maybe not...

I think there is one episode of Star Trek: Voyager that had a trivia track, but my old player kind of barfed at trivia tracks unless I paused it in a certain spot and it would happen to pause with some of the text at the bottom. There may be more?... or perhaps it was a dream. Can anyone confirm / deny?

Virtually all of the Doctor Who DVDs have trivia (or production subtitles) tracks.

Very informative they are too.

Crazy. I own a bunch of these discs and never noticed a single text commentary. Do they show up as subtitle tracks?

For most of the movies, you can cycle to the text commentary using the subtitle button on your remote. However, there are some that you have to choose from in the languages menu or the special features menu and the rest of the subtitles are disabled. If I remember correctly, the Infinifilm trivia tracks are enabled separately from the subtitles.

In any case, I don't know of any of the ones I have that are "hidden", or anything, they are always in the menu somewhere. In addition, depending on who released the DVD, they are usually called something different everytime.

I know for Universal, they are "animated anecdotes" (or something like that), and the Seinfeld trivia tracks are called "Notes about Nothing."

Can you distinguish which version(s) have the text commentary, like Ghostbusters and Die Another Day?

The Back to the Future set has a sort of text commentary. I think they call it the animated trivia track.

The Girl Next Door (including facts so completely relevant to the movie such as lipstick is made from fish scales.)

A Guy Thing has one too, but haven't watched that one yet. I'm sure there's more I've forgotten about.
