29. If we buy one DVD in a trilogy or a season of TV on DVD on sale, we have pretty much signed a contract to buy additional movies/TV seasons EVEN if we don't like the rest of the movies/seasons (Jaws, Simpons, etc).

30. You keep your second and triple dips along with the originals because of different special features, no matter how insignificant and regardless of whether or not you have ever watched them or ever will watch them.

31. Will stop collecting premanently once they issue the long gestating Good Burger (Criterion Collection), as your collection will now be truly complete.

and 29.A. Buying a trilogy or double feature disc, even though you only barely like one of the titles, but the extra even crappier titles make the deal too good to pass up. (ie Tremors)

Some of these make me laugh, but are you serious? You bought SIX copies of a movie you didn't like to get different bonus features? Bonus features for repeat....a movie you didn't like???

No wonder this practice is so lucrative.

Sounds like you can help me with the below right "definitive list" thread.

Nah, I've only done that in three instances. SW, LOTR, and a movie that I haven't watched the extended edition to decide which cut I like better. I like features, but not that much.

Thanks, Numes. I noticed my mistake but I can't figure out how to edit my post! The edit buttons are missing (at least to me).

ceeece-you probably have an adblock-type program running. Temporarily disable it, refresh the page, and the buttons should show back up.

32. On birthday/holiday wish lists, you include pictures/links to the exact edition of the DVD you want. AND YOU STILL GET THE WRONG ONE!

Seriously. I like thinpacks plenty, but don't release some seasons in full size and some in thinpacks. I don't like how it makes one season look giant.

34. You complain about the lack of an insert even though you will look at it maybe once and it lives on the inside of the case, not visible to anyone not named Superman.

36. You will just stare at your huge collection for minutes and drool... LOL

38. You flip through every single copy of the movie you're buying, hoping that one of them has been mistakenly priced lower.

Well, I own Jaws but will not go near any of the sequels. Yuck!

Well, this confirms that I'm a collector of films rather than DVDs as not a single one yet applies to me.

this thread is a bit like a 12 step program type confessional thing...

seeing someone else looks for perfect cardboard cover...

the insert thing...

this is awesome...

i really like this forum...

no one mentioned the [email protected] email address is the most used in your address book...

that you take and protect the 'buy three get one free' and '30% off total order' Borders sale coupons like they were flawless diamonds... driving yourself insane putting together a list of the most expensive(criterion) movies you could buy 3 of to get the best deal by the free fourth...
