Yep, H20 is a direct sequel to II.

I saw the Halloween release on the shelves at BB this Sunday, and they all had the same crappy slipcover that was on the one at Target. Didn't see any glow-in-dark or light-up eyes.

At least that's what BestBuy is showing me...
Did anybody see the release he is talking about at Best Buy today? It looks like it would be an exclusive that came out today. I would like to know if it's different from that crappy checkered metalic one that came out last week. Because if it is different, at 9.99 thats a steal.

Yep, but it does sort of have glow in the dark eyes I guess.

Just tested, they don't glow in the dark, but the eyes and knife are made of reflective material.

Anybody know if this is the same as the first disc released before as the Divamax (off color) 2 disc release or the one disc release prior to that?

Anybody able to confirm this new disc is anamorphic?

They most likely will, considering this one is the same disc with a new case. The complaints for it will be massive though.

I've owned numerous versions of Halloween, when an actual remaster comes out, I'll bite. I'm skipping on these from here on out though.

just to let you know the slipcover at best buy is in fact slightly different than the target, wal-mart ones, etc. and comes with an insert and the free movie ticket sealed in the package...great deal IMO

Are we 100% sure about that? I bought one at Target and studied it before going inside a Best Buy. Except for a sticker on the slipcover that mentions the ticket rebate that is exclusive to Best Buy, they looked exactly the same. Granted, I didn't hold the 2 DVDs up next to each other, but they sure looked the same to me.

If you want to see which theaters will accept the free ticket inside the DVD case, go to http://www.moviecash.com

when i say slightly different, i mean SLIGHTLY...the dvd available at wal mart and target had a metalic knife and eyes, where as the best buy one had sort of plasticy eyes and a regual embossed knife

I notice Buena Vista took the theatrical cut of Halloween 6 out of print, could this bode for a possible release of the Producers Cut to coinside with their DVD release of the remake?

That would be awesome. Doubtful though.

They will probably change the cover art and release the same exact version that was already out to coincide with the remake's release on DVD.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll EVER see the Producer's Cut released by Dimension. Now, if Anchor Bay got their hands on it, we'd probably see about 4 or 5 different versions.

I'd actually like to see an all-new cut assembled. The Producer's Cut works better in almost every way right up until the finale, which is so ridiculous that I actually end up preferring the confused, slapped-together mess offered up in the TC. Ideally, what I'd like to see is a Producer's Cut with a completely re-edited ending.

Oh, it's practically a given. I'm just hoping it features everything off the previous releases (along with a correctly colored transfer), so I don't have to hang onto the two other versions I currently have.

Don't forget about all the footage that was discovered last year, that's bound to surface somehow

I found the 2 disc 25th edition of halloween at the local used dvd store yesterday for 8 bucks. I figured it was a good price for that, but is it worth keeping?

The divimax release? That's a decent quality set. Well worth 8 bucks.
