Kristi Sommers in TOMBOY
K.C Winkler's lower frontal nudity in H.O.T.S though not WS, the DVD of RUNNING BRAVE the lower nudity in the shower scene seems to have been zoomed in, unlike the old VHS. |
In the Glass House, LeeLee in the swimming pool, you can see her boobies in full screen
|
Can someone explain why this is? I thought you weren't losing anything (only gaining) with a WS transfer?
|
More of Linnea Quigley's wonderful rack in the back seat of the car in Return of the Living Dead.

Goldie Hawn in Best Friends
Lori Singer in Sunset Grill (and I think) Kate Winslet in Holy Smoke. |
Who da thunk??
So occasionally fullscreen can be more interesting than widescreen. What an epiphany! Great thread! |

I'm surprised so many people can list examples, I would expect you buy one and never view the other
|
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this not really happen anymore due to monitors? In behind-the-scenes footage, I often see people looking at playback monitors with both a square and a rectangle on the screen; unless I'm mistaken, I thought that was so the picture could be properly framed for both widescreen and fullscreen, and avoid showing boom mics, lighting and accidental male/female nudity.

One more, Sigourney Weaver in Map of the World. |

People often erroneously use Terminator 3 as an example of a recent movie with extra boobage in the open-matte transfer, but in fact there is no true nudity in any version of the movie. The actress's breasts are covered by hair. All the full-screen disc offers is some extra cleavage. |
I thought I remember reading that there was a tad bit more nudity in the FS version of 'Doc Hollywood'?
|
"Who's Harry Crumb?" -- during the opening credits when the woman is getting ready for the spa, in the FS you can see her nipples in the mirror (at least in the foreign version, see link). Noteworthy because this was otherwise a tame PG-13 movie.
