Any news on this being on HD DVD?

(AFAIK Weinstein/Genius hasn't done any Blu-Ray releases).

I loved Grindhouse, but I feel the same way. If I can't duplicate the theater experience at home, I'll do without.

As been said before, Grindhouse was an experience and I'd 100% rather have that experience available on DVD. But it IS two seperate flicks, from different directors, and if you had this experience with other films back in the day, the movies wouldn't have been released as just one flick for home video. They would have been released as two seperate movies.

The thing that stinks about these releases coming up, is that they aren't even the original short yet fun flicks we saw for the Grindhouse experience. They're longer and now their own stand-alone flicks. So I understand what they're doing here, I just .... ugh. It stinks.

We'll I would like to see the Original movie on dvd and then longer cuts etc....But I'm not the one with millions invested in it either..."George Lucas knows that fans will pay for whatever Star Wars crap he puts out and This movie is perfect for "multiple releases". If you want to talk about the sanctity of the film and all that..watch videos for free on YouTube....The Producers of Grindhouse are trying to make some bucks and by having two movies instead of one on the dvd rental/purchase market equals more cash as hardly anyone saw it in the theatre-sounds like good strategy to me. I will just rent these...then rent the hi def releases and then Buy "Grindhouse-The Ultimate Fan Boy 5 Disc Edition in HD" along with "The Whole Bloody Affair Ultimate HD Edition " in the future buy one get one free Amazon sale which will ring up at $00.00 with free shipping.

I'll go ahead and blame myself but I still won't buy any version but the full version in HD.
If I could see it for one price at the theater, I should get the same deal at home.
I'll happily rent them on SD and wait.
This is the same junk they pulled with Kill Bill.
I sometimes think Weinsteins think of new ways to not have me purchase their titles.
They are 100% successful so far.

One thing people keep overlooking when they use the 'two films on a double feature back in the day would be released separately on video' line.

The films presented back in the day. Where two separate films either picked by the distributor or theater(whoever made the decisions on what to book together) and played back to back. They were just that,two unrelated separate films randomly chosen to play together. So no one would expect them to be released 'together' on home video.

Meanwhile Grindhouse is one full length feature film. It has credits for Grindhouse,and the end credits for both films,trailers and commercials plays at the very end of Death Proof.

So if they were really just 'two films played together as a double feature'. Then there would have been end credits at the end of Planet Terror and Death Proof. Credits for the trailers wouldn't make much sense though. Since in a normal theatrical screening. There is no credit scroll for the previews shown. But that's besides the point. The two feature films themselves didn't have end credits after their presentations.

I know some will say "Well people would have left after Planet Terror then!". But hey,two separate films,should have two separate end credit scenes after their respective films. Instead of the combined all in one end credit sequence after Death Proof.

Any chance that the trailers will be easter eggs? I'm just finding this ridiculous.

And, should we expect some cleaned up version of Planet Terror without all the scratch marks? The Weinsteins are really testing me on these.
