Awesome... Malick in the collection... I wonder what other paramount titles they got.... A criterion Chinatown would make my year.

I already own the (barebones) Paramount "Days of Heaven" - but I'm still incredibly excited for a Criterion release. It's a masterpiece, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure this is an announcement of the Magic Johnson talk show.

Wonderful news. I just got rid of my Paramount copy yesterday; pretty lousy transfer, so I'm VERY interested to see what Criterion does with this -- that goes for the extras, as well... Malick's films are all completely barebones on DVD, aren't they?

I only wish Warner would give Badlands this treatment!

Think we'll actually get a Malick commentary track on this one? Either way, this is an automatic double dip.

Haven't seen this, but plan to ASAP. This hint is even more of a reason for me.

I'm loving Paramount's newfound ties with Criterion. I can't wait to grab If..., and I've been pining to see Ace in the Hole for a long time.

on suggesting a Chinatown Criterion. The Conversation would be really nice too, maybe even an end-all, take-all Apocalypse Now. Honestly, I think with this new alliance we could possibly get Zodiac with the slanted C, and make it a "Fincher Francisco Two-Fer" with that Game release.

Better yet, I'm sure they'll include a video commentary.

Wow! Not only is this one of the few Criterion riddles I figured out right away from the picture, but this comes out of left field...I didn't know they were planning to release some Malick. Well, I've got the old Paramount version, but this is a definite must-buy for me.

Fantastic news!

"The New World" has a pretty lengthy documentary on it, but of course Malick is nowhere to be found in it.

It's such a gorgeous film, and the current transfer is absolutely horrible. When I first got my HDTV it was one of the films that I watched in the first couple of weeks because I wanted to watch things that would look great on a bigger screen, and I was shocked to realize how bad the picture looked on it. I'd rebuy it at full Criterion price just for a nice transfer of the film, let alone with some extras (which would be really appreciated on a Malick film).

It's hard to believe Terrence Malick is alive with the lack of media coverage on him and all.

Days of Heaven is so good, that it makes Richard Gere (who I absolutely loathe) watchable.

Sounds good. A Criterion Malick boxset with Badlands, Days of Heaven, The Thin Red Line, and The New World would be most welcome.

Billy Weber did an interesting and fun "live" commentary for Days of Heaven at the Virginia Film Festival a couple of years ago. I hope he participates in this release.

There is a documentary on the Region 2 'Badlands', which I believe is more about Malick than specifically 'Badlands'. Maybe they'll include that here....

Nice. Badlands is in desperate need of the same treatment.
