I want Seinfeld Season 8 but why should I bother buying this set now when I know the price will be lowered to $20 before the next season comes? This crap with the TV dvd sets being priced high then being lowered is enough already...

Quite a good week for special editions of some old favourites:-

(1) Duck, You Sucker (2-Disc Collector's Edition) - The least disciplined of the Leone westerns but still probably the best. I prefer James Coburn to Clint Eastwood any day.

(2) Hopalong Cassidy 4-DVD Collector's Edition - I don't have any Hoppy in my collection so this is a little indulgence.

(3) The Neptune Factor - Only vague memories from the time of its original release, so this may be quite nostalgic, or bad. Very bad even.

(4) The Sand Pebbles - I have the original release and have watched it several times, so all the new extras including the Road Show version make this a definite buy for me.

(5) Twelve O'Clock High: Special Edition - As per The Sand Pebbles. I'm a sucker for solid extra content on an older film. Pity Greg Peck is no longer around to contribute.

(6) Von Ryan's Express: Special Edition - I have never liked this film very much, but am willing to give it a second chance. Mainly buying for the extras and the astonishing cover art.

(7) Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea: Global Warming Edition - At the age of ten I woke up from an appendicitis operation to see this on the hospital ward television. I though it was the drugs making the sky scenes look blood red. I was wrong. Guilty pleasure.

(8) World War II Collection, Vol. 2: Heroes Fight For Freedom (36 Hours / Air Force / Command Decision / Hell To Eternity / The Hill / Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo) - Strangely diverse collection of films. The Hill really does not fit with the others. Nevertheless, will be glad to finally have a copy of Command Decision.

After reading the review that it makes the movie a little better I'll probably pick up the extended cut of Fantastic Four.

I'll try and sell my original to a friend.

Only reason this is an option because it comes with a free ticket for the new movie and I'll be going to see it so that make the cost about $9 and if I can sell the original for $3-4 bucks that would give me a total cost of $5 or $6.

*UPDATE*:
Well got all my DVD's at future shop this week because yet again this week Wal-Mart had nothing on the shelf's yet because the workers are too lazy & don't care enough to take them out of the boxe's and put them up so people can you know, buy them.
Anway's I ended up getting:

Cast Away 2 disc SB for 18.99
Platoon 2 disc SB for 16.99
Best of the tonight show-Johnny Carson: stand up com. (they didn't have the "King of late night" DVD in @ future shop) for 26.99
&
I got Masters of comedy-Ult. collection at wal-mart for 14.66

I didn't get the Messengers (2007) because i just decided that I will give my crappy horror movie DVD buying a break this week.

Still waiting for my phone-in orders from planet of sound & Hampstead book's, Althrough I i got a letter saying the package for HB. arrived yesterday while i was out so i will have to go pick it up at the post office sometime after 1pm today.
