Will new "steelbook" DVD's be at retailers 6/5?

The "Die Hard" , "Fight Club" specifically. If so, where and how much do you thin kthey will be?

punit 05-26-07 12:15 PM

Price at $12.75 for steel-book editions at Buy.com seems a good deal !
Code:

www.buy.com/retail/searchresults.asp?qu=steelbooks&loc=322&querytype=toys&search_store=4

Greg MacGuffin 05-26-07 09:15 PM

Cool, thanks. I just placed my order for Die Hard. Total came to $14.76 using budget shipping and the 7% off coupon.

OldBoy 05-29-07 11:29 AM

All "steelbooks" out at BB today 5/29!

Just wanted to let everyone know that all of them were out at 2 BB's today. Omen, Platoon, Day After Tomorrow, Die Hard, Fight Club, Hannibal, Cast Away, X2, and X-Men 1.5 .

I don't know if "X-Men 1.5" was listed anywhere and said Best Buy Exclusive (so may have been out prior, but that is out too. The only one I didn't see was "man on Fire".

Mods: Please close this or merge. Thanks.

Thanks for that Buy.com deal. That made it (almost) worth buying Fight Club again for a damn case. ;)

Retail price??

Wildo1966 05-30-07 10:07 AM

At BB they were all 19.99 except Hannibal which was 16.99. I saw alot of damaged steelbooks so make sure you inspect them..

soop 05-30-07 11:35 AM

Can someone post a link to this 7% off coupon for buy.com?

I picked up the last X-Men 1.5 Steelbook at BestBuy today.

CertifiedTHX 05-30-07 07:39 PM

Was tempted by a couple of the steelbooks, but at $20 per unit, forget it. I would be spending $40 for special packaging and exactly the same content. Not important enough to me at this time.

I picked up Man on Fire at BB today. I saw Hannibal, Fight Club, X2, X-Men 1.5, and Day After Tomorrow. I own all except for Hannibal in their previous versions and I could get the original 2 disc Hannibal for like $3.00 so I'm not sure I'd pay an additional 16 or 17 dollars just for packaging.

I haven't decided yet for sure, but if I do get any of them it will be next month during the DD 20% off sale. Right now, they are $16 - $17 per on DD. Take 20% off, throw in free shipping, and no tax, and I just may grab a steelbook or two.....

OldBoy 06-02-07 01:16 PM

used google checkout and got:
"Die Hard" & "Fight Club" for $12.00 each including shipping.
"Man on Fire" for $7.15 including shipping!!!!

wowbagger 06-02-07 06:42 PM

I picked up the X-Men 1.5 steelbook today, and have the others on order from buy.com. All except for Man on Fire and Day After Tomorrow, and Die Hard, that is. Where did you get Man on Fire for so cheap?

Oh, and when did the X-Men 1.5 Steelbook come out? This is the first I've heard of it.

ReduxGuy 06-02-07 07:31 PM

Best Buy in Savannah had a ton of the steelbooks. I was able to find a good copy of The Day After Tomorrow.

pbishop69 06-02-07 07:33 PM

The next 4 FOX movies I'd like to see a steelbook for r:

THE FLY '86

BUTCH CASSIDY

PREDATOR

Saw these today at Best Buy... only one i didn't see that must have been sold out was Fight Club. The X-Men ones are the only ones i'd be interested in, but i already have them. If this was a year or two ago i'd probably double dip just for the case, but these days I just can't justify it.

Mr. Cinema 06-02-07 10:37 PM

Circuit City has Platoon, Hannibal, and X2 advertised for $14.99, with a minimum quantity of 15. I hope the others coming out are the same price.

Ranger 06-02-07 10:58 PM

Anyone have a link to the X-Men 1.5 steelbook? Are you sure the one you got wasn't the 1.5 edition that has already been on the shelf for some time?

These DVDs aren't limited editions, right?

Mr. Cinema 06-03-07 08:45 AM

Circuit City's ad says limited editions.

Wildo1966 06-03-07 09:36 AM

So can I 'assume' that Best Buy will price match (in my case price adjust) only the 3 steelbooks shown in the CC ad this week? The CC ad only shows Hannibal, Platoon and X2....

Mr. Cinema 06-03-07 10:20 AM

I think those are the only ones on sale. They show a $14.99 price on the website for those 3, but I checked Man on Fire and Fight Club and they have a $17.99 price.

Looks like the X-Men 1.5 is a Limited Release (from Bestbuy Only)

I got the X2 for a bargain at $6.99 at Bestbuy via pricematching (details on how to obtain this please check this thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=502384 )

The steelbooks are of great compliment to the X-Men Last Stand Target Tin Exclusive

Ranger 06-03-07 02:42 PM

Ah, cool. Does the X-Men 1.5 regular/steelbook have the Jackman screen test and Mutant Watch feat that's on the single disc?

i think it has both those, but i don't think it has either of the easter eggs that were on the 1st ed. at least spidey isn't on the 1st disc. i was bummed about that.
