Absolutely TOP NEWS. Cheers mate.

At the bottom of the article it says "and many more". I hope that includes Killer Party. If anyone gets the updated article or further news, please post.

EdTheRipper 05-25-07 05:10 PM

I'd pick this up.

Case01 05-25-07 05:12 PM

Sounds good, it's silly we had to wait until 2007 for this. Oh yeah and isn't George from Seinfeld in it?

islandclaws 05-25-07 05:18 PM

Don't forget it was also written by Bob Weinstein. AWESOME news. Glad to see it's uncut with some decent features.

Cameron McGaughy 05-25-07 05:26 PM

STOP! STOP!...news...too....good...can't believe it....

Mountain Biker 05-25-07 09:44 PM

Sweet - can't wait!

Julie Walker 05-25-07 10:39 PM

Excellent! 6 long years of waiting,finally over with! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I last saw the uncut verison sometime in 2001 on cable and have'nt seen it aired since(+ don't get those movie channels anymore). I had to crack down and buy the old R rated VHS release to see it again in decent quality(since the uncut bootlegs are crap!) last year.

So this is great news!

DeputyDave 05-25-07 11:00 PM

Great news!
Watching that Slasher documentary made me want to see this again. I can't believe its been over 20 years. the article mention an "all new HD transfer", will this be in SD or HD (or both)?

Very cool news on From Beyond as well.

DarthVong 05-25-07 11:02 PM

From Shock Till You Drop.com

Even more exciting is the release of the Weinstein brothers' early foray in horror, "Burning." Tony Maylam's slasher opus, featuring the FX work of Tom Savini, is also getting a hi-def remastering with the promise of "intact" gore footage, a commentary, an interviews featurette and behind-the-scenes footage of Savini's FX work.

Joel Goodsen 07-06-07 04:00 AM

I am getting worried about this release. I havent seen any pre-orders anywhere and the other releases mentioned, From Beyond and ROTLD have both had pre-orders and cover art posted.

Anyone seen any sites for pre-orders or cover art?

Cheers

nateman 07-06-07 07:20 AM

Excellent news

I'm not going to get really excited yet cause I havn't seen any cover art or pre-order yet but Sept. is still just a little less than 2 months away & alot of other DVD coming in Sept. are just starting to release cover art so...

Giles 07-06-07 11:11 AM

can't wait to hear the commentary!

Cameron McGaughy 07-11-07 11:36 AM

count me in as one who is still nervous about this...neither The Burning nor Scarecrows is showing up for preorder anywhere, while From Beyond and ROTLD have been for weeks...hopefully they will be up soon...

<crosses fingers>

Well, aren't "From Beyond" and "ROTLD" being put out by major studios? Who is putting out "The Burning"?

MGM/Fox

Joel Goodsen 07-11-07 02:09 PM

There is a pre-order on movies unlimited at the bottom of the page, http://www.moviesunlimited.com/musit...asp?sku=D52023, but that isn't solid enough for me. To be honest, I have got a bad feeling about this one, I thought it seemed too good to be true. (Here's still hoping for cover art soon)

islandclaws 07-20-07 06:17 PM

^ Nice, but that's wallpaper. Anyone seen the cover yet?

Davy Mack 07-21-07 01:45 AM

awesome. My friend is in it. (one of the victims...)
He said that Savini was a really cool guy and watching him do the makeup on set was awesome.

:)

Joel Goodsen 07-21-07 03:44 AM

From Retro Slashers:

" I hadn't caught this straight away, but luckily fan Drew Bourdet was quick to let me know that Michael Felsher revealed via his interview on last week's Deadpit Radio, that The Burning DVD from MGM will have these special features:

20-Minute Tom Savini Interview + FX Footage
Tony Maylam Audio Commentary
Still Gallery
2x Trailers "

Surely there has got to be some cover art and more pre orders showing up soon.

Misery 07-21-07 05:28 AM

DVD Drive In has posted a look at the cover and also a few others from the same day including the MGM Midnite Movies.Nice..

Looks like Freddy on that cover. Very poor compared to:

Joel Goodsen 07-21-07 08:57 AM

That cover art is terrible. I was really hoping for the one posted above, that custom DVD art was amazing. Pretty disappointed but not as disappointed as I would be if the transfer was as bad as that cover.

islandclaws 07-21-07 11:44 AM

I need to print up that custom cover. The MGM cover is pretty weak.

Matthew Ackerly 07-21-07 11:46 AM

Whats worse then the cover is that ridiculous tagline.

"Gather around the campfire to die"

Lame.

Cameron McGaughy 07-21-07 12:48 PM

Not nearly as catchy as the Scarecrows one: "They only want a brain...yours."

DarthVong 07-21-07 01:40 PM

Reservoir, Where did you find the custom cover at? It's awesome.

ok, so here we are, close to just a month away, and The Burning and Scarecrows still aren't on the major retailer websites for preorder...are we really gonna see these?

Joel Goodsen 08-02-07 05:35 AM

I am hoping so, I wonder what the hold up is? If they are changing that terrible cover art before the pre orders go up, I dont mind waiting at all.

ericmylad 08-02-07 01:19 PM

Found The Burning for preorder at Amazon. No sign of Scarecrows though.

I am liking the look of the price...$10 isnt bad at all.

cerial442 08-03-07 08:34 AM

Has the cover art for Scarecrows been released?

Here's a link to a website that has it. It's at the bottom of the Sept. 11 releases.

TomOpus 09-04-07 11:17 PM

It's in stock at xploitedcinema: The Burning

Joel Goodsen 09-10-07 01:26 PM

Ive mainly been looking forward to The Burning and I haven't seen anything mentioned but does anyone know if Scarecrows is uncut? I read the extras are not on the disc but I haven't heard if it is uncut or not. Does anyone know please?

TomOpus 09-10-07 06:01 PM

This was taken from the xploitedcinema site link I posted:

"Please note that even though the back of the box states this is Rated R it is the uncut version"

So, take that as you might.
