The State - Complete Set

I just saw an interview with Michael Showalter on TV. He said that MTV is coming out with a complete set of The State. He said it will have all four seasons and include commentaries and tons of extras. No mention of a release date though.

I better start saving now. I'm sure it won't be cheap but I want this set sooo bad.

Too bad the music will be changed, but I would rather have the State on DVD in some format.

Is there any definitive reason to believe the music will be changed?

You just made my weekend. I finally bought the "Stella" DVD set a few days ago, which has really made me miss The State.

Maybe not definitive, but the comments on iTunes regarding the downloadable episodes indicate that the music is changed in that format.

I'm a big fan of Reno 911! and I recently started watching Stella on DVD; so would The State be a good blind buy?

Definitely not getting original music, but regardles, this is probably the last TV release I've been pining for since I bought my DVD player.

This interview was during a 24 Hour Human Giant Marathon on MTV. They played the Pants sketch with MIB and The Breeders' song "Cannonball" had been replaced with a generic similar sounding tune.

Bottom line: if the original music isn't on MTV, there's no way it'll be on DVD.

Finally. I've been waiting for this for five years, at least. I've been running on hope supplied by the very infrequent news updates they would release. The must buy of the year for me.

I don't like the music change situation, especially since many classic sketches were based around the music used, but just having the complete series is good enough for me. This has been one of my most anticipated releases for years. I can't wait to dip my balls in it.

IMO, The State is better than those two shows combined.

I agree. Viva Variety was better than Stella IMHO. I loved the Baby Tastes Like Soup and Fishy Bar ads.

now that The State is finally coming out on dvd....

...does anyone think there is a chance in hell of Exit 57 coming out on dvd?

with the cult status that Strangers With Candy has reached, and with the recent notoriety that Stephen Colbert has achieved, one would think it would be a good time for it to come out.
