I went to my Best Buy after work and to my surprise they were sold out of the helmet editions. Hopefully they will get some more in.

You can still check and see if the BB near you has it, but no more in store pickup.

oh man. i will never order from BestBuy.com to be shipped. they usually send in a large bubble envelope!! a freakin' bubble velop!! i got the Tommy Boy set a while back and box was damaged to no end. i was frustrated that i had to go in store to get replacement. NEVER will order to be shipped fro mthem again. be careful!!!

I saw it, but forgot my wallet to go and purchase it.. It appears to be a sheet of paper with the edge curled around the rounded edges of the steelbook.. Most likely it's glued on to the back, but someone that bought it and opened it should confirm what's underneath..

it's just the paper spec sheet. comes off easy and nothing but steely goodness underneath. no language or any words for that matter.

That's what it says on my order. which i ordered on June 21st! Futureshop has done this to me a couple times aswell. It's like they have no idea how many units they're gonna get and give out a ton of pre-orders! It's beyond ridiculous!

Hey, that's my eBay auction! Yes, as I said in the auction description, it's just a piece of paper that's easily removed. The back of the case (based on an earlier post in this thread) is a profile shot of a Spartan helmet and two crossed spears.

i went to BB at lunch. helmets all gone. so i placed order online. then later got email saying all sold out, so i called them back, and they checked every store in Northern CA and Southern CA. All gone.

btw did anyone buy the target exclusive 300 deluxe version? if so, i am wondering a few things:

1. what's up with the exclusive download? there's a little paper inside that gives u a code to DL stuff? and what do u get? is it worth it?

2. the 90 minutes of bonus features touted by target... is that just the same stuff on the deluxe edition included on the best buy helmet version?

also, anyone know where the continuation of the Free Bonuses section is? if there is one?

Exactly the reason why I opted NOT to order it online. I rather wait and overpay for it through ebay. Best buy & walmart are just horrible shippers.

I got my FYE bonus disc in store -- they had a pretty huge stack - this was in Nashua NH.

I pre-ordered on June 20, and I got the same message. I called the local store and asked about it, and the guy just told me I was better off driving out to buy it than to wait. So I did, and there were a bunch of copies left (this was around 11:45 AM), but every other person coming in bought one.

Didn't like the condition of any of the cases much, but I'm fairly sure I got one of the least dented (one minor nick on the side of the case and on the bottom. Doubtful I'm even going to keep it in the case as it is).

But yeah, I'm glad I didn't stick around waiting to see if it got shipped or not. Very, very cool collector's item.
