How fast do the BB exclusive sets sell out. I was planning on heading BB around noon, but would that be too late?
|
^ I assume it depends on the area. If you live in a big market, then they might run out if in a smaller area, they'll probably still have them. Last time, with V for Vendetta, mine had plenty left when I got there later but obviously this title will sell quicker.
If you want to secure a copy, you could always buy it online for in-store pickup (as others have already suggested). I'm going to wait since I have a certificate to use. That and I'm still on the fence on spending an extra $12 for the mini-helmet. |

I'll be there, right around the time they open, tomorrow. I plan to pass on the Exclusive Collector's Edition, and just get the 2-Disc Collector's Edition. However, I won't truly decide until I get to see the Helmet set, up close. If they happen to be all out, then, I won't be upset about it. |
I was planning to buy the 300 DVD at Best Buy, along with Braveheart for $5.
What I wanna know is after I buy these, would they let me return 300, and keep Braveheart. I already ordered 300 with helmet online, I didn't know they offered the same deal on the website... so, I wanted to see how I could still get this deal. |

Why order the helmet if you can get braveheart for $5 by ordering the regular edition? Its the second time around you posted your intent come tommorow's release. Was there some sort of guiltfree pass by getting the giftset (rather than the regular set) to get braveheart for a total of $40? |
Guilt free pass? What are you talking about?
I ordered 300 with the helmet because that's what I wanted. I also wanted to buy Braveheart for $5 but to do this, you have to buy them on the same receipt. I could not do this online because I pre-ordered it before sunday before the sale started. So what I wanted to do was maybe return 300 when I received it, then buy the one I just returned with Braveheart to get the deal... and if that didn't work, I was just gonna buy another 300 dvd with it... then just return it since I would already have one. |
wooooo just picked up my copy bout an hour ago :rock2:
|
Waited for the flag to switch to make it available for instock pick up.. Looks like they reset it midnight PST.. Order 2 copies of 300 SE w/ helmet for me a friend, threw in another title for filler and used their $10 or $100 on Bestbuy.ca.. Now I can sleep in a bit knowing that it's reserved for me.. Hope the employee that picks them up to be reserve doesn't toss them around much..
Later |
saw the wal-mart versions tonight when i went to pick up hot fuzz, but i'm waiting to see target's edition and see best buy's helmet up close before i make a decision...
did notice 300 single-disc had no slipcover! quite surprised to see that... kinda makes the slipcover on the 2-disc an added 'bonus' for those of us that enjoy slipcovers. |
Okay, seriously, I can see people going to BB when it opens, but who honestly camps out for this?
|
FYI, the running time on the fye bonus disk is not listed. but the 2 disc SE is $22.99 and has a $7 mail in rebate on top of that!
|
Is that in-store as well or only through fye.com?
|
Enjoy!

Does anyone know exactly what's on the Target Bonus disc?
i'm currently debating whether to purchase this one...the Circuit City version with bonus "card art" or the deluxe mini helmet set from Best Buy... any suggestions? |
ARG, my pre-order for my helmet best buy(canada) exclusive is out of stock! I freakin pre-ordered it on June 21st!
Isn't that the whole point of a pre-order? to reserve a copy when the release date comes around? If you can't garantee me a copy on July 31st, then don't let me pre-order it! Pisses me off. This happened to me on alot of occasions with Futureshop also. They really don't know what the fuck a pre-order means! |
In-store pickup in the US is up now, so have some peace of mind and get it that way.
|
I figured someone would have been all over the Target store by now and reporting to us what theirs actually looks like and is. I feel let down. Don't make me go there over my lunch hour, you guys!!!

Went to BB this morning at opening. They only had about 12 copies of the exclusive set, and sold out in less than a minute. People ran to the display so bad they almost knocked it over.
Gorgeous set! We were there at opening, and we got the last copy, so it's very limited. |

I also got there at opening at 9:30am (BB opens at 10am) There was only one old lady there getting the 300 helmet edition for her grandson; I was second. Some people came every minute after that. By 9:55 there was about 15 people out front. They open the doors and there wasn't really a rush, but all we saw right in front was the 300 display with the standard editions and the SE. The Helmet editions were in the back of the display. I also notice in that they had some of the helmet editions in the action/war DVD section. I counted the ones that weren't taking and there was about 7 left over in 30 seconds. Some lady bought 2 H.E's. I'm glad I got there early. The guy at BB a 2 days before told me there shouldn't be a rush and I probably wouldn't have to come early; I laughed. now just getting home 10:20. I can defiantly say that those H.Es are sold out. The total of this DVD set was $37.26. I think the experience was well worth it alone. Here's some pics.
