Been thinking about using these on all my homemade DVDs . Has anyone tried them? Do they cause any playback issues?

Are these the ones made out of some sort of plastic rather than paper? All paper labels should be avoided because of issues with warping - the paper will expand/contract in reaction to humidity and temperature changes, thus bending the attached DVD.

Memorex has one very expensive line of labels that are not made of paper specifically for this reason. I have not used them myself, but considering that their entire reason for existence is to not screw up your DVDs like regular labels can, they ought to be safe.

Personally I would just go with thermally printable blanks and use one of those ~$100 printers from casio and a couple of other brands. They only do one color, but I'm big on function over form.

I've been using LightScribe discs (mostly CD's but also for the occassional DVD) and I'm pretty happy with it. The lack of color is the only downside for me. Some people won't be happy with the time it takes to burn the label (doesn't really bother me). The quality is good though and you never have to worry about it peeling or bleeding if it gets wet.

Sharpies or Lightscribe discs are your best bet here IMO.

I don't do labels. Too problematic because the heat generated inside a DVD player almost always will make the label unstable and will eventually come off.

I'm glad I haven't printed labels for my expensive DVD+R DLs!
