I know the original collection is OOP, but what I am wondering is if anyone has heard anything about a re-release, or any future special editions?

I read somewhere that there will be a new special edition box set exclusive to HD-DVD and blu-ray ONLY in conjunction with the upcoming Dirty Harry video game. Thats right, no standard dvd release.

I have a hard time believing that they would only release a high profile release like a special edition box set of the Dirty Harry films on hd-dvd/blu-ray which is now a very limited marketplace ...
If they were to do this then they can just f*ck right off...
I have spent too much on DVD's to switch over to some new format which I am not the least bit impressed with...

I don't want to thread crap but I just recently re-watched all five of these. The incredible coolness of the first three is only surpassed by the dire suckiness of Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool.

If these were ever released on HD (and if I ever converted over) I hope they would be put out individually. I can never see myself re-watching the last two.

I'm with the Deputy on this one.

SUDDEN IMPACT does have one great scene and that's the make my day scene.
And DEAD POOL has the fortune cookie scene.

I'll pass, and I've sold my old set (though I'd like a new set, HINT, HINT)....

The DVD box set Clint Eastwood: Cop is still available at some places. This includes Dirty Harry, Magnum Force and Tightrope.

Dirty Harry 2 disc set due on June 3rd. Along with the ultimate edition released on the same day.

Nice set....I'll wait for it to come down in price. About $100 on Amazon for the BD.
