RUSH HOUR 1 & 2: Special Editions -5/22/07
Further Details:
New Line Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for new special editions of Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2 which star Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Each will be available to own from the 22nd May, and should retail at around $14.97 a pop. The full details have yet to be revealed I'm afraid, although we can confirm that the films will each receive a digitally remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer. The only confirmed extra material so far will be a sneak peak at Rush Hour 3, that includes behind the scenes footage and cast interviews. We'll bring you further details shortly. For now though, here's the artwork: http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/rush-hour.html

I've held off buying them & will probably buy the SEs (definitely if they have Movie Cash). If no Movie Cash I may wait for a box set of the 3 later on.

I sold my copies almost a year and a half ago knowing there'd be a box set with all three. I dunno about this, though. I'm tempted, but I still wonder if I should wait for the box set. I suppose if they come with a ticket, I can't resist.

I don't know what else could be added to these titles. Rush Hour 1 had a 60 minute behind the scenes doc and lots of deleted scenes and a commentary. Rush Hour 2 was pretty loaded as well with lots of short featurettes. Seems like they just added the Rush Hour 3 preview.

What's up with the above-the-title credits for Rush Hour 2? At the DVDActive link, it shows the two covers. One has Chan on the left, where he's given top bill. The other has Tucker on the left where he's given top bill. Is there really that much of a power struggle going on here that they need two different covers (perhaps one's a slipcase) to satisfy egos?

What was wrong with the transfers of the first releases?
Seeing as how I got the first releases for $4.88 each, this may or may not be worth selling them for.

Those photos of Jackie and Chris are the exact same ones from the previous DVD's. It's just blown up and jazzed up with photoshop.
I'm not going to shell out 10 bucks each for these movies just to see a 5 minute EPK on Rush Hour 3, which by the way is still filming according to Jackie Chan's blog. They started shooting this movie last September!!

And this seems to be yet another re-release that is absolutely not needed. Let Newline spend the money to rerelease these. I don't need them. My current dvd versions are more than adequate.
