Ghost Rider --> June 12th!
 

Officially announcing on April 9th, "Ghost Rider" will be seeing 4 releases: SD Full Frame, SD Widescreen, and SD 2 Disc Extended Edition and Blu-Ray Extended Editions.

Happily, they will include DTS soundtracks!

The extended edition will run 127 mins, while the theatrical versions clock in at 110 mins. Retail will hover at $34.95 for the 2 disc edition, and the single disc version at $28.95.

Very cool. Didn't see it in the theater (I know, it's still an option but the window has closed) so I'll probably pick up the 2-disc. :fc: for a dts track.

Been wanting to catch this in theaters, but with the short DVD turn around i might just go for the extended DVD so long it has a theatrical cut.

I too didn't catch it in theaters, but will be getting the 2 discer. I'm also hoping for some cool retailer exclusives. That are pretty common now with these comic book movie releases.

The Region 3 version (which plays Region 1) has a smoking DTS track and can be picked up very cheaply! Highly recommended!

Ditto. This should look amazing on BD and come with a nice PCM audio track. Plus, it's cool we get the extended version. Good job, Sony.

Quite possibly top 5 worst movies ive ever seen and i'm a huge Cage fan.

Horrible movie but atleast the people who pick it up will get a nice set.

I can't wait for this. If the extended version is really going to be that much longer, it is going to be one sweet release indeed.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed early details on Ghost Rider which stars Nicolas Cage, and Eva Mendes. The film will be available to own from the 12th June as a single-disc ($28.95), or a two-disc extended edition ($34.95) with around 17 minutes of additional footage. The discs have yet to be officially announced so details are still sketchy - although we understand that 3 audio commentaries, and a 60 minute "Spirit of Vengeance: The Making of Ghost Rider" documentary will be included on the two-disc version. A Blu-ray edition will also be available for $38.96 - this will include the extended cut. We'll bring you further details (and the final artwork) just as soon as it is made available to us. I didn't care for the movie too much, but I like those extras. Wonder who will be on those commentaries?

For so many who have mentioned they missed it in theaters...I saw it yesterday...I recommend renting it if you have to see it.

Having seen it in theaters I won't touch these dvds with a ten foot pole, definitely agree, rent this first.

Rather mixed reviews, I see. Was tempted to go-- friend of mine was excited about it-- but bowed out ultimately. Just didn't look quite worth the money-- average, at best. But, certainly looks like a winning DVD release.
